Does this put out the same heat as a Dr heater that is 199.00 both units are 1500 watts

We've purchased several space heaters of this basic design over the years from various manufacturers, and every single one of them has stopped working after a year or 2. For $10, I'll give it a shot, but I'm not holding my breath that it will last longer than 2 years.

I'm no handyman, but I decided to open up the last one that died to see if there was something obvious going on. One of the wire connections was scorched and melted. From what I researched, this generally means a poor connection caused it to overheat, resulting in the melting and malfunction. I obviously don't know if a similar problem caused the other failures, but I found it interesting.

Nevertheless, if I see a good deal on one, I usually bite.

Better too much than not enough. If it's too much, you can simply turn it down. If it's not enough, your only options are bundle up, or buy another one.

Electricity is 100% efficient, so they are all similar in output. I use a heating pad, about $20, its only 75 watt and hot.
