got this refurb deal from Brother, printer condition was excellent, easy setup.

My notes...
- No ethernet (wireless only)
- Wireless solid but 2.4ghz
- No ADF but does duplex print
- Not fast but not slow
- Basic color / business printer (not a high quality / photo printer)
- Heavy but fits in small places
- Overall great value and low operating cost (get official Brother supplies on sale or ebay)

It will turn itself off after a timeout period, only setting I changed. Firmware was current. Windows 11 sets up automatically, no need to download/install stuff for basic operation (print/scan).

Buying directly from Brother is a hassle. If it arrives broken, you have to pay return shipping for them to replace it. Took them about 6 weeks to process the return too.

they must have replaced the wireless adapter.

looks like you can get a set of toners for $34 on amazon

on color printers usually the magenta toner goes out first

will this printer do grey if the black from the colour toners goes out?

would be the perfect printer for me if it had duplex scan too Frown I don't often get a lot of two-sided documents that need to be scanned but every now and then. I suppose I could just merge the PDFs and shuffle the pages around but mehhhh

Some pretty horrible wireless connectivity issues with this model based on reviews - some reviews said they made warranty claim and received refurb units which eventually had connectivity issues too. Would love to get color laser and generally had good experience with Brother but not worth the risk - no WiFi connectivity makes this a 2005 era printer
