It's a jack stand. All it has to do is not catastrophically fail to be amazing at its job. People really watch reviews of jack stands?
Well one of the jacks that Project Farm tested was outright scary... So yeah, reviews do help making informed decisions.

I have both husky jack and this jack. They look exactly the same.

Do they look like they come from the same factory?

I typically jack up one corner at a time and use the jack for backup (there are plenty of reasons to jack up both sides or all four, I just avoid it as much as possible). Still, no reason to cheap out. My biggest beef with these is that if you want to use little plywood squares to prevent frame rail damage, that deep v-groove looks very unforgiving.

I also prefer 4 independent feet over the flat sections — especially if your surface isn't perfectly flat.

I've had these for a while with the Maasdam 3 Ton Low Profile Jack. The release on the stands work good and I've barely had an issue with any material being smudged/rubbed off the grey V where the car sits. Handled my 1995 Tacoma and 2017 WRX with no issues.

Would also like to point out the 3 Ton Maasdam Low Profile Jack is on sale as well for $129. This jack is low profile (meaning lower vehicles) and has a higher reach then most jacks it's weight and price. Max height on this is 20 inches when most are 15-18 inches

Do you think this stand is still worth getting? He recommended either the arcan, husky or TCE for value.
I have both these and the husky and they are identical.

Hate the design of these - V shape. Practically can't hold anything up without damage.

Didn't see this one! Looks very similar to the HF Daytona 3-ton w/ rapid pump ($189 vs $129)

EDIT: Looks much more like Pittsburgh 3 ton jack with Rapid Pump, still a $10 savings if you need one without a coupon. HF Comparison https://www.harborfreight.com/3-t...70486.html

And cars just have to get you from point A to B. So I guess they must all be identical in form and function, right?

How many miles does your Fiat 500 have on it?

I was debating between those two as well. Figured I would give the Maasdam a go first for the price point and I am pretty happy with it. I have a lowered 2017 WRX and a 1995 Tacoma with a 4 inch frame lift (15-16 inches just to reach the bottom of frame) and I can lift both with no hassle. I actually paid $117 using military discount at Home Depot as well.

The key detail that was the selling point for me was the Low Profile. The Pittsburgh you posted isn't low profile. The low profile is $160. If you have a sports car or lowered vehicle, a normal jack will rarely fit underneath.

Your life depends on it so yeah, you shouldn't cheapen out on these unless you have a life insurance and you plan to check out soon.

FWIW, I've always had the actual car jack stay just a hair below the jack stand when doing simple repairs. I've always relied on having a jack stand and some other thing on the chance it falls (be it another jack (which, at this price is pretty easy), spare tire, or the car jack).

I am sure for the average DIYer this will be more than fine
