Just got an email from ASUS with a generic coupon for the Z1 Extreme model for $100 off making it $599 instead of $699.

I personally have a Steam Deck and am happy with it, but after researching and seeing a popular (+58 deal) from BestBuy for the same price, but requiring a Total Tech membership, I thought I'd share.

Link: Z1 Extreme [asus.com]

Coupon: NC100 during checkout.

FWIW, I tried it on the non-Extreme model and the coupon code did not apply.

Coupon code per email ends on Nov 8th, or "While supplies last."

edit: Although coupon stated through Nov 8th, it is still active on Nov 9th. YMMV on how much longer it's valid.

Yes it still has that issue.
What percent of owners do you think are shelling out $1k plus dollars for an eGPU for these hobbyist devices? Not many my guess.

It's $620 at BB if you don't have their paid membership.

Honestly, I didn't realize that BBY dropped the normal price to $620. As mentioned in OP, I searched, found the BBY deal at $600 with a $50 or $180 membership and thought it might interest someone.

I've dealt with Asus post-purchase support and it was fine. I've not dealt with their website shop support. $20 for peace of mind if you want an easier return holds value.

I'd imagine a deal for BF will pop up, too.

I bought a open box new legion go at bestbuy for $630 plus tax for the 1tb model instead. Bb had open box excellent ally for $450 at one point as well. I stayed away from the ally due to poor battery life and micro sd issues. That being said the go seems to be having software issues as well. Luckily bestbuy holiday return policy is until January 14

I've been waiting to bite on these deals and get either the ally or legion but I haven't yet just because I know their 2nd or 3rd generation iterations will be insane. Props to early investors so we can keep these products coming.

Is the Asus ROG Ally (Z1 Extreme) 1st or 2nd generation?

Aren't problems expected when new tech releases? but after a few versions & years later, new improvements & better specs, then it'll be worth to buy.
