I do not agree. 8% 1 star reviews for this specific model in different sizes. 8% of 11,747 total reviews is almost 1,000 bad reviews. This is not a good ratio in my opinion. Where there's smoke ...there's fire!
It's a good tv, this is dumb! One of the absolute worst takes I've seen about reviews! 😂

Is this better than buying a normal TV & using chromecast?
I'm using the TCL $150 one from a month ago with a 20223 Apple TV 4k and it works great. Just need to tell the TV to auto-use the previous HDMI input to bypass all the "smart" crap.

Edit: These aren't high-end TV's, but even a low-end TV of this size is an IPS-ish panel, HDR, good color, etc. For the $, and I'm a plasma-pry-from-my-cold-dead-hands snob, it ain't that bad.

I have about a 15 year old Samsung 50" 1080p midrange plasma that I use maybe 3-5 times a week as my primary tv. I'm perfectly happy with it. Other than "4k" will I notice an actual "upgrade"?
The biggest thing about 4K TVs is not the resolution. It's the HDR (it's even more noticeable when a TV has Dolby Vision). HDR enhances color like never before. Plasma has great black levels, but not the best color. A TV like this will have poor black levels, but with movies and shows that support HDR, the color will be a big difference.

I bought this during summer to replace a broken sony Bravia. I don't use the firetv, I put in Onn Chromecast. I think it's fine for what it is.

I think this deal is to rival the Onn 50" Roku TV from Walmart for $150 starting Nov 8th. I don't know which is supposed to be better.

a month ago or so, BB had 43" for less than $100.

compare to that, is this 50" worth the $199.99 price?

(assuming both deals are available)

Same for me. I bought one. Failed during a software update and is now toast. Never again with a FireTV.

You appear mathematically challenged when it comes to understand reviews, scaling, and large numbers.

Is the TV now bricked due to that failed update?
