This is not a deal. This is standard bundle price for this old system.
Not sure why everyone is hyped on an old system and old digital game???
SDers are usually in the know, about prices for things and what constitutes a good deal or not. Very confused with the response to this.

Oh boy, wait 3 years to save couple hundred bucks lol why not wait 20 years, by then u will probably be able to pick up the console at your local goodwill for $2
Wrong, in 20 years the Switch will be retro and highly collectible, especially considering it is a portable hybrid with decaying/leaking batteries and fragile screens/controller components. There will be many that get broken and/or tossed in that amount of time, adding to the collectability.

Also, see my first point about not buying an EOL game system at its full 7-year-old launch price and waiting one year, not three, for the next Nintendo system for a similar amount of cash. Although, a fool and his money are soon parted, so go ahead and listen to your heart!

Why are you so sour?

That's sound advice. My son hasn't touched his switch in 3 years and he's 10. He has all of the hit games, but he rather game on his pc.
Sour? About what? I simply commented that waiting 3 years to save a couple hundred bucks is comical imo. For multiple reasons. Also, I dont see how your comment about your son has any relevance to what i said

And Im not listening to my heart, i simply dont agree with your dumb logic. So go ahead and keep saving up, maybe one day you'll be able to afford

Bird waisting money on an OLED even were finally starting to hear legit rumblings of a new switch. I barely play mine now. Also $50 a year to play N64, Genesis and GBA games instead is a ripoff. Unless you play animal crossing or Mario Kart 8 which they could have made two new games by now instead of all this dlc. It's lazy and hard work at the same time. So weird.

Nintendo is making a killing off this hardware. It's at least 8 years old and they are still selling it consistently for over 300 bucks

And you know they're making even more of a killing off of the games, especially digital. Mario Kart, a 10 year old game, is at 57 million copies sold.

OLED is 350, game is 60 MSRP or cheaper at GameStop used. You're getting game for free with bundle. 300 is the non OLED switch with no game.
OLED has consistently dropped to around $300 or a little less. This isn't a great deal at all, but Nintendo will Nintendo

I agree. It's not a deal. If you were already going to buy Smash digitally and try out Switch Online (base tier membership), it's a fair price.

If I didn't want Smash Bros, I would get the Switch OLED at Wall-Mart for $297. It's not a deal. It's what I would expect for a Black Friday sale.

No other portable matches the value of the Switch. All the Steam Deck-like portables absolutely suck on battery and cost 2-3x more. Physical media can still be traded and sold near their purchase price. Nintendo 1st party games are extremely high quality compared to all the "in-development" shovelware on Steam. It functions as a true portable gaming device compared to anything else in its price range.

It might be dumb, but at least I use logic.

Also, ridiculing people on a deals site for being poor. That's really sad, my guy.

Why would someone on SD buy a full-priced 7 year old console with the successor right around the corner, which is likely to be backwards compatible? Getting a 6 year old digital download game with the 7 year old full-priced system hardly constitutes as a Black Friday deal. Save your money, buy the Switch 2 for a similar price next year with a $30 used hard copy of SSBU, than me later.

The Nintendo Switch has sold nearly 50% more than the Nintendo Wii did. It also sold to many people during 2020 who normally don't game or collect gaming stuff, so there will be a huge surplus of used Switches once the new system comes out soon. Remember ever buying a Nintendo Wii at a yard sale for $40-60? Yeah, it's going to be like that but much, much worse for the Switch. $80 OLED used in three years, count on it.

If someone plays Zelda or Mario games and the current ones available are all they want to play, I understand why they would want to pick up a discounted Switch. With it being close to the end of its life cycle, some might want to buy it new from a retailer while they can. For electronics with a glass screen and battery,, I like to buy new. The warranty is also another reason to buy it new.

Absolutely crazy people paying full retail price for almost 7 year old hardware. I understand inflation, and that the OLED model is only 2 years old but still.

$199, that's reasonable. They already make a killing on the games, even selling at $150 they probably make money on hardware.

Is it really worth it to pay the extra for OLED version instead of the basic? Especially if it's going to be used mostly by kids on the dock with TV display...seems like the basic version with Mario Kart for $300 would be a better deal for me.

It would depend on the price difference for me. If I was getting one for children and the difference is $50, I would get the non-OLED. If it were less of a difference, I'd get the OLED. I believe it has a better battery life. The stand is also useable with the OLED.
