Is this good for a lightweight, cooler-running laptop with a nice big screen? That's all I really want.

Is 4.30 lbs. light, solely depends on your personal preference. Some might find that on the heavier side but for a 16" I'd say the weight isn't that bad.

For the rest of the things you mentioned, it would suffice perfectly. This is an all-rounder laptop, capable of doing just a bit about everything.

However, do consider if you actually require a dGPU for your use. If not, there are other 16" laptops that you might find for a bit less and possibly with a ryzen chip which would run it cooler than an Intel based laptop.

You could get by with a cheaper and lighter machine with integrated graphics if that's all you're after. You're probably the prime demographic for a low spec MacBook Air.

Not really sure who this laptop caters to. It's not really sufficient for moderate gaming and it's too beefy for casual use.

Not bad combination. I'm seeing a handful of 4050 6GB laptops floating around for a few hundred cheaper but 2 year older CPUs (11th gen), no Thunderbolt, and <300 nit and weaker color accuracy screens. This one has an extra SSD slot which is a nice bonus too.

If this wasn't stuck with 16GB limit it'll have a lot more long term potential and I might consider returning the BB Asus OLED I recently pulled the trigger on.

Thanks. An iGPU is fine, and I know the AMD would have better cooling and iGPU, so maybe I should be patient and wait for that someplace. There seems to be new laptop deals every day

Can anyone comment on the hinge? My last three lenovos have failed at the hinge, pretty frustrating.

16'' laptop without extra SO-DIMM slot is stupid.

If it had upgradeable RAM or an option for 32 I'd be sold on it so quickly.
