I might disagree slightly. I have a 5600x and am upgrading purely for the 3D cache. I am exclusively a flight simmer and that extra cache makes a world of difference (according to what I have seen). Maybe it's not going to be worth it, but I am CPU limited in XP12 with a 3060ti so I'm hopeful this helps out my mid-level "budget" build without having to touch the mobo or RAM.

unfortunately in store only. they're not shipping this product currently, and microcenters don't exist everywhere.

worth the 20 bucks more considering that 5600x is around 130 right now. but then again 5600x might drop to near 110~100 around BF.

but if you have a 5600x, I wouldn't suggest getting the x3d version as an upgrade. just get on am5 tbh.

This seems like a great value now then the $200 msrp

The 5600x hovers around 140 so for 3D vcache is a big selling point and for many who game you will see a big uptick in stability of frames (gamers nexus has a 30fps boost when just comparing 5600x to 5600x3d); i would suggest this if you are trying to budget to put as much into the gpu; the $300 red devil 6750xt seems to be a great combo

I dont think nvidia is going to give any 12gb gpus around $300 this year unless they give the 12gb rtx 3060 to undercut most of AMDs 6000 GPUs

I wouldn't trust intel still because their arc a750 is still around $200 but their future gpu prospects dont really compete against AMD with their propriety technologies; if you were comparing ONLY intel vs nvidia budget gpus then i would pick a750

Most likely cause i got mine for like $103 on amazon last year and is a good part unless you need the 5700g APU to get you started and wait for a gpu

I took a quick look to see how this compares to one of my systems 5600G. Spec wise, it seems like they are identical; yet, the CPU rating is at place 61 vs 140.

Even the 5600x appears to be better on paper. I know that there is some magic with the 3D cache and the x3d chip may support PCI4.

I paired this with a 3060 12gb I got for $220 open box (hadn't ever been touched) and 32gb of ram and it's been rock solid and has played everything I've thrown at it and been fun to play with stable diffusion.

In games that really benefit from the big cache, it makes a huge difference. Like somebody mentioned above, Flight Simulator is among them, almost 40% faster than the 5600x. Attached a benchmark graph below...

Question, would this be a good upgrade from the 5600 (non-x version)?
Currently paired with 64gb ram and a RTX 3070ti.
Thank you!

So basically I need this if I already have a 5600x and shopping for a video card in 400-500 range for DCS World?

God I wished I lived near a microcenter. This would be a perfect upgrade to my ryzen 1600. Hopefully the 5800x3d goes on sale soon

Nice link. Thank you. Those benchmarks are running with a video card that very few people are going to buy... a 4090 really?

To me, the cost of the chip + extra cooling requirements do not seem to justify the minor gain from a 5600G. If building a new system though, yeah, I really like to see the competition and the prices dropping. I picked up the 5600G for $89 just before last Christmas.

Do not confuse the 5600g and 5600x. The 5600g is noticeably slower in gaming.
