I've been shopping for Milwaukee products, specifically the M 12 line

If you specifically need the ratchet in hackzall, and don't have any Milwaukee tools already, this is a nice deal

But otherwise, this is not the fuel /brushless line of tools. The current M12 fuel impact wrench is a beast compared to these two drivers, easily replaces both of them

Also note, these are 1.2 amp hour batteries, they will not last or provide the best tool performance compared to a 2Ah orc 2.5Ah HO battety

Sorry but a 5 piece set MSRP north of $600 better be all M12 Fuel.

From Acme Tools:
Current Price $219.00 Was: $349.00
Save $25-$100 with code: JUMPRED

So even without buying other tools the price would be $194 ($219-$25) If you buy $81 more of Milwaukee stuff it's only spending $56 thanks to the $50 off $300, thank me later when you use that to explain why you got more stuff

Only you know if the kit is what you're looking for, so if it is what you want then I'd suggest going to Acme. Nothing but great experiences with them.
Jumpred details:
Purchase $199+ on select Milwaukee items and save $25 with code: JUMPRED, or purchase $299+ and save $50, or purchase $499+ and save $100. The discount will apply in cart to qualifying orders with the correct code use. Maximum discount of $100 per order. This promotion is valid for online purchases only. Not valid for in-store redemption.

Is this a bad set? No, absolutely not -- especially at this price. It's great for someone just starting out -- first time in an apartment or a home, and they need the basics. Pair this with one of those all-in-one kits of sockets + wrenches + allens + drill bits + hammer, and you'll cover 70% of basic maintenance.

Is it a great set? No not really. This is the budget-line of M12's tools. Even the flashlight is a boatload of meh. None of these are exceptional performers. But you'll spend a lot more overall on individual tools. Then again, I'm comfortable around tools and already own better performing models. It's easy for me to look down upon these as "not worth my time".

So it depends on if you just need a basic set for someone just starting out, or if you know what you want and recognize these aren't going to be the best fit.

yes this is a good deal i got this one years ago for about the same price. Mine just came with an ossilating tool instead of the ratchet. I use it all the time. Thought about getting this one and selling everything to keep the ratchet. But i dont think i want to deal with the headache of dealing with people wasting my time only for a ratchet.

Need the hackzall fuel version, but haven't seen a good deal on it or a hack deal on it.

I need to keep adding to my M12 collection lol...

For the average weekend DIY warrior, these are more than sufficient. If you were a tradesman who was constantly using them all day long, then the fuel would be better as it does give a slight advantage to speed and battery life, even then it's marginal. It may save you a few minutes over the day and you wouldn't have to swap the battery out sooner.

It will take a lot of weekend work to wear these out.

This is a decent starter set, but saying that it ever cost $600 is deceptive at best. The drill/driver combo are usually on sale for $100. Two other tools and the accessories are not even worth $200. This is like a 30% off deal at best. I love m12 and this was my starter set almost a decade ago. Just fyi, these tools are not that small by today's standards and my 18v brushless makitas are about the same size, but three times the power.

The recip saw is very underpowered. The fuel version is good but not this one. I have this one and just use it to carve pumpkins. Once a year 😆

This is not a good deal, it's better to get Ryobi if you're gonna go brushed Milwaukee. Most of these tools with fuel can be had for $400 during sales and they'll run better and longer and have better resale value. Not worth it.

Breakdown: I got the m12 fuel drill set for $140, with ratchet it is $199. Hackzall is $80-100 on sale. The light is negligible.

Haha I use mine and the multi tool for pumpkins as well. Went to use it to breakdown a branch for trash pickup and it smells like pumpkin spice Milwaukee when it's hot.

I typically use Dewalt 20V brushless stuff, but I really want a ratchet and the saw to carry while dirtbiking.

Is there any resell potential for the drill/driver, impact and light to subsidize what I want to keep? I can't find actual part numbers to check on ebay.

If you do get these tools, highly recommend getting a larger battery....(don't buy rebuilt or non-Milwaukee brand)

The drills and hackzall will be much improved speed and runtime.
Also nice having another battery so you're not always having to swap.

couple example prices from that A-to-Z company
2.0 Ah - $32
4.0 Ah - $51
2.5 Ah HO (high output) - $35 This will be massive improvement over the 1.5 Ah

Here are two good M12 battery comparisons:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9X0kzMZJ-o (the 2.0 is blown away by the 2.5HO, I'd imagine the difference would be greater from the 1.5Ah)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t9dUsx6Jas ton of detail, including pack breakdown.
