QC45 are lighter and more portable. The 700s are bulky although they sound marginally better and have more ANC settings and may fit better on your head.

If you're purchasing it for work and need it for a conference meeting, definitely 700 because it has one of the best noise-canceling mics on the market. If you're only using it for listening to music, QC45 is lighter and much more comfortable. I say this as someone who owns both headphones.

I have the solo 5 for my desktop in the gaming room. I put it in front of my monitor. It looks clean and offers amazing sound!

I had creative 2.0 speakers before and those crapped out finally. This sound bar fills the whole room with amazing bass for such 2.0 sound bar. I play a lot of Forza, FPS and MOBA games.

You could replace the pads right off the bat. I know mine are completely worn just right after a year but only because I use the much less expensive aftermarket ones. My OEM pads barely lasted for two.

EDIT: did some research. You CANNOT turn off ANC without turning ON pass-through (Aware) mode. That pretty much means you CAN'T TURN IT OFF.

Thanks for posting this. I had these in my cart, but came back to finish reading through this thread.


I have the QC35 II's and always end up turning off the ANC within a few minutes of use. It takes a minute but I nearly always get a slight discomfort from the internal "ear/head" pressure that comes with ANC (even on low).

I've had different verisons of the Sony's and they are worse for ANC (internal) pressure and mechanically uncomfortable after ~30 minutes use.

Guess I'll stick with my QC35 II's for now.... Their light weight design is the largest factor for their comfort with long term use.

I've got the Sony XM3 and they kill my head after a few hours on international flights. Hope the Bose 700s are more comfortable. I prefer them over 35/45 for the better microphone
