8GB of RAM is trash. You can't get $1400 of value out of 8GB of RAM. Stop rewarding Apple for bad decisions. Don't buy or you're the problem.

$1,400 and 8 GB RAM, I don't know if I should find that hilarious or be insulted.

True. 16GB should be the de facto standard for a laptop that's supposed to be "PRO", that is this expensive at $1,400 and for any semblance of future proofing.

I just want to add that you can get the same price with military discount on the apple store but you will have to wait 2-3 weeks to receive it.

Would do it if they shipped. Not worth the commute.

Curious, how much is it to jump from 1TB to 2TB of hard drive using mili discount? It's $360 for student discount for comparison.

It's a shame they have so few stores and don't ship.

I think it is the same price, it is just 10% off the total price with the military discount.

Not a bad price for a new product from Apple. Now I'm trying to find the best trade in for my M1 MacBook Pro before I jump. Seems like BestBuy doesn't accept trade ins on M1's anymore because on their website I can't choose that model for trade…..

Use the search function on their trade-in page along with the model number of your MacBook, it's probably there.

Sell it yourself on FB Marketplace. You'll get a much better price that way. Just watch for scammers and only meet at places like a police station.

ANYONE can use apple education discount. NO verification. NO special email required.

Microcenter prices are still $50 cheaper though.

Here's the link to apple education pricing for anyone without Microcenter

The benchmarks are just marginally better. Unless you just want to stay up to date with the current product, you most likely won't see much more performance.

Not if you go to a tax free state to buy at apple store with edu price. No microcenter in NH as an example

Why would you trade it? The m3 is a lesser model in connectivity and the speed is moderately better, You will pay big bucks to step down. My advice keep your m1pro, I am.
