Good deal for sure but just an FYI this stuff is trash. Horrible for sanding pretty much any real wood. The original cubitron is x10 better. Also costs triple or quadruple the price. But you get what you pay for woodworking wise.
Your the first I have heard say that!
My experience has been great. Fast removal and last long.
The downside is it will tear or wrinkle if you hit a splinter, proud knot or try to use it on edges. Other than that it performs very well. Oh and you must use an interface or you will wear your backer pad's velcro.

Is it possible you got a knock off? I doubt it though.

I'm posting just to offer a different perspective. I love this stuff. It sands down wood FAST. That creates a lot of dust, but these discs don't get clogged up like a lot of others do. It's expensive, but if you're doing a lot of sanding, it'll save you a good amount of time versus cheap/regular discs.

Why is it $8 for a 6", but $26 for a 5"? More pieces?

I don't know. I posted that link just as an example of what an interface pad is. The description does not have the count.
However the size of the box is much bigger at 3.3" thick vs 3/4" for the 6" box

The only issue I've had with this style is if you sand corners it'll tear up the mesh. Otherwise this stuff is leaps and bounds better.

Reading the reviews, the 6" appears to be one piece (despite the description) while the 5" is five pieces.

Edit: Home Depot has Diablo connection pads at $5.47 (https://www.homedepot.com/p/DIABL.../303486800).

But you can also get an assortment of SandNet screens which includes one of the pads for $19.88: https://www.homedepot.com/p/DIABL.../311196042

If I were a more abrasive man I'd be tempted to say you have no idea what you're talking about.

6" is a less commonly used size. The 6" 3m sanders are often cheaper than the 5" also. Demand is likely lower for 6" so price reflects.

These are excellent for aggressive needs. It'll take a ROUGH cookie and put it mirror flat in 30 minutes. As stated below, they like to tear when they snag a splinter.
