That configuration is a better deal. The i7-13650HX is faster than the 7840HS, especially in multithread. 4060 is considerably better too and gets 8GB of VRAM. Plus 1TB SSD and the better Intel AX201 Wifi card instead of the Mediatek in OP.

For the $200 price difference, the model you listed is a no brainer better buy.
The Blue Cash Preferred (BCP) card is a good one to get: $95 annual fee waived the first year, $250 cash back sign up bonus if you spend $3000 on the card in the first few months, 6% cash back on groceries, and it has the Dell deal attached to it.

Some Amex cards, like the Gold card, can't take advantage of the the Dell deal (I have both the BCP and Gold cards, only my BCP gives me the option of adding the spend $599 get $120 back offer).
The thermal design of this laptop is terrible. My son has one and because of how the heat is exhaust, the screen casing will begin to separate from the hinge.

So, I really need to get an AMEX card for some of these deals.

What is the preferred AMEX card to get while minimizing the yearly fees?

great deal from dell again! But why not just Ryzen 7 7840HS + 4060 for 899, this will be an overkill to everything in the market

Sounds good. Is this an alternate configuration that you've seen or just a deal that you wish was offered? Also, how do you think the current deal compares to the i7 deal previously posted ? https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/g...pgQdOnsLtw

How does this compare to the current Best Buy deal for a similar machine (i think) for $750?
With the dell coupons and amex stuff this is a better deal i suppose

AMEX offer is NOT for everyone. Only for "selected" members.

The TUF will have a somewhat better GPU, but a worse CPU (Zen 3+ vs Zen 4), it will weigh less and the display is 16:10, but have a similar storage/RAM/battery life.

If you travel a lot I would choose that, however in my anecdotal experience with it, I disliked how hot it got. There's also a few quality issues that another poster documented.

I wouldn't say it's that much of a better deal, unless you are dead set on the Dell G15. At that same price you can get the Asus TUF F15, which has a slower CPU sure, but has a much faster RTX 4070 and similar overall specs (slower screen) but weighs far less. Here's a comparison video of the 4060 vs 4070 [youtube.com]

The 4060 Legion 5 is also competitive even after discounts. imo the Dell G15 is best as a budget product since it lacks features that come standard with better products, like a medium size charger, USB 4 + PD, good software, etc

Well, the Dell is $999 - $100 & $120 statement credit, so it's $220 cheaper

ty, I'll go for the $999 I7 on the 13th and buy the ryzen deal other if the i7 sells out before I can buy it.
