it's certainly fine for any small diy projects or fixing things around the house however it's an extremely small ecosystem . with the coming holidays you could probably keep an eye out for rigid ryobi or Milwaukee deals. id go for ridgid because of their lifetime service agreement. don't forget you have to actually register the purchase.

Buy the 12v Bosch Flexi or Milwaukee M12 installation driver with different attachments. With or without hacks you can get these for $100-$200 with extra batteries and chargers. I got mine on Amazon business for $70(Bosch Flexi). And these are the brushless options. Even pro's use this for everyday jobs at clients homes, etc.

You can also get a Metabo HPT 4 tool set for $199 with free 3ah battery.

I started out with a Black and Decker Matrix All in one and the batteries cost way more than the pro brands!!! I ungraded when I saw how fast the battery died and how much new batteries were.

I'm not certain about their cordless line, but SKIL has definitely stepped up quality on their corded tools in the last few years. I have both a SKIL table saw and sliding miter saw, and they definitely punch above their price point.

Like another poster mentioned though, their cordless ecosystem is still growing, and while this is a good price if you need three tools and a speaker, you may find equally good deals from other brands in the coming weeks.

Decent for average home owners. Not included in the kit BUT their auto hammer is awesome and you look into getting it too if you get in this tool line.

edit sorry hammer is 12v. missed that this kit was 20v🤦

i have most of the 12v stuff. like them a lot. the impact driver is just as good as my m12. batteries aare cheap. the circular saw is hands down one of my favorites. its not as powerful as a full saw but i can rip 2x and siding easy. will recomend a diablo blade tho

Look at this big chart of all the tool manufacturer owners like Chervon and ALL the zillion brands they sell under like Skil.

This is just like P&G coming up with Tide Original, Hygienic, Heavy Duty, Downey, Free, etc etc etc simply to take up as much shelf space as possible so a potential buyer walking down the aisle doesn't buy a competing product.

Skil = Kobalt = Ego all by Chervon, so the underlying designers, technology, manufacturing, etc are all coming from the same.

Differences would be mostly in duty rating of the motors and parts for the target consumer/price.

Ie. If they give you a 5 year warranty on a Skil or Ego, then you know it's mostly higher quality parts. If something has a 1 year warranty, then lower quality.

....

Skil in general is higher quality.

Also, battery packs are of the few brands in the market with a built in usb port. You can use it like a powerbank to charge your phones!

Also has a rapid charger, so a dozen minutes or so to do from zero to a useable 1/3rd charge.

Extremely small ecosystem? Looks like they have every major tool and even some niche stuff. What are they missing?

I was about to comment that I started with Black and Decker. I am about to just suck it up and change to a whole new system. You have a very valid point that the batteries are very important to look at.
