The power brick is nearly as large as the speaker.

Given that these dropped so drastically from $80 down to $35 so fast, I wonder if we'll see sub-$20 before the end of the year…

cant find any info if i can use it as a dock for android...... i think it would but not sure. It'd be nice to use as a charger and dock for samsung phone dex mode.
Same here. The Surface Duos are Androids...

Why did you return?
Posted earlier in the thread about it but kept getting disconnected/reconnected when using with work laptop and Samsung 49" g9 monitor. Only a standard laptop too but maybe 60w wasn't enough? Sometimes it would work fine for whole day but other days would disconnect multiple times a day. Even tried connecting my monitor directly to the laptop and only using the dock to charge and audio/mic. But even so, it would still do the same and wouldn't even charge at times.

I'll try it out for work.. mostly interested in it driving a 49inch Samsung monitor and a 27inch. Hopefully it can handle both.
Not sure if the HDMI can drive it, although it supports 4K 60Hz and 5120x1440 is less pixels. I tried Dell thunderbolt dock and the HDMI 2.0 doesn't have 5120x1440 option, only 3840x1080, but it does have 4K 60Hz…

I had to use thunderbolt to HDMI 2.1 cable to get 5120x1440. My G9 OLED only has 1 DP and it's connected to my own PC so I had to use HDMI.

There's a review on Amazon that says that second monitor was dim when connected. Is this accurate?

"When I connect my second monitor to USB-C, it won't display at normal brightness because there isn't enough power..."
No, not accurate. While I'm sure their issue/symtom's real, their guess as to why isn't. The signal is a digital data stream, and isn't using the "strength" of the signal to represent brightness, saturation, etc., like TVs and video cameras used in some cases (primarily in the "analog" days). Too many factors to say what the user's issie was, but "isn't enough power" is not one.

Great buy if you're in the market for one.

Don't buy just for the FOMO, use case is limited.

Good luck!

Can I disable USB Power Delivery? I already have a Thunderbolt dock with USB-PD connected to my laptop.

Nah, no issues. Devices will only pull as much current as they need, so in the case of a desktop it won't pull anything. It'll basically just function as a powered usb hub
What happens when a laptop is connected to both this device and a Thunderbolt dock which also supports USB-PD? Which device will the laptop pull the power from?

I have couple of monitors. one has USB-C Hub built in with PD, but problem is that it doesn't daisy chain. So I have my mac HDMI busy for the 2nd monitor. Also the USB_C is on mac is busy for external webcam. I work from my home office mostly and have "tied" my M2 mac to the base of one of the monitors, vertically, with a bungee cord lol. Planning on buying this to unplug mac easy when needed. But wondering about the value as it can soon become clutter.
