Why won't Sony allow retailers to lower the PS5 to $399? It's long overdue.

Don't you mean "doesn't appear to be many English majors that are NOT in the military?" Why would military members be asking if this is for military only?

Agreed, but as long as Sony has no problem selling them for $499 I don't see it happening soon, maybe next BF, maybe earlier, in spring when sales slow.

I picked up a PS4 just last year, and picked up this deal for another controller and back-up console (with coupon and red card got for under $180).
Don't feel like I am missing out at all when it comes to a PS5- yet. Most major releases still come out on PS4, and I get older A+ titles in the bargin bins for $5. Sure, graphics are a bit better on PS5, but not enough for me to pay $300 more for.

the PS5 slim is not that big of a deal, compared to earlier PS versions, you are getting a smaller disk drive and 175gb of space. Weeeee, not that exciting.
