Just buy from Costco.. can return the same airtags within 90 days. Also, I think each store might only have few ones in Stock.. so YMMV if you can even get one for $70. 4 pack at Costco right now is $85.99..
If you only need 1 or 2 AirTags Staples has a recycling program where you get $5 store credit once a month for trading in old electronics. You get the $5 coupon around the middle of the following month that expire in 2 or so months.

I was able to stack 2 of them in consecutive months to get $10 off plus used my Chase Business Ink Cash for 5% back on office supply stores. Staples also does price matching in store.

Any retailer willing to price match at a later date?
I am flying out on Mon, last time I needed to wait 2hrs for my luggage and they kept changing the conveyor belt. Was so annoying going back and forth with no idea where my bag was. I hope this will be helpful.
My wife and I just went to Ireland and Scotland (absolutely beautiful countries) and I purchased a 4-pack for us, one for each backpack and one for each checked suitcase. It was a nice peace of mind to be in the plane before takeoff, check on the bags and see that they are "with us" on the plane (in the cargo hold) and then upon landing, being able to double-check that they did in fact arrive with us. I would recommend the AirTags, or Tile or whatever, even if right now you have to pay a little extra.
