Nice novelty but the gold price trend graph from past 10 years requires some balls to jump in for this impulse buy.

happy for all the preppers who think this is a safe way to hold onto money lol

I bought a bunch of 1oz silver rounds from Apmex a while back for $12.50 an oz after seeing it posted on Slickdeals..

Was it an unsafe purchase?

whats the point with the added risk of storage, loss, theft, commissions on sale when you can just pick a gold tracked ETF?
You get to have a physical bar of gold in your possession Smilie

Agree, unless you plan on investing several tens of thousands in physical gold, I personally don't see the risk/reward benefit or hedge opportunity to diversify a portfolio. Sign up for an exchange and purchase holdings there. Safer bet
I do have ETF and some physical as well.
Why -
Don't have to worry about ETF having gold that backs it up.
Also, good as a gift that will hold value with inflation.
Diversification.

Ever heard of just buying ammo? Ammo has risen more than gold in price, and it's an actual useful tool. Your gold will be worthless if sht actually hits the fan. You can't do anything with it.
Can you resell ammo? Not trolling, seriously curious.

Adjusted for inflation, gold has been a terrible investment over the last 10-15 years.

What would be the process to sell this, if you ever wanted to?
Reputable online precious metal dealers also offer to buy from you. You may get a better price than you can get from the local coin shop.

I have several inherited inside a safety deposit box. Can you guess how much they were purchased for 20 - 30 years ago, compared to the price they're valued at now? LMAO

Preppers buy these with the intention of using them in post-society scenarios.
The logic on this doesn't track for me.

Serious question for the prepper-types: What makes you think anyone would be interested in your soft, shiny metal in a post-society scenario? I would think anyone actually serious about prepping for such an occasion would get much more mileage out of hording useful metals and the equipment to make use of it.

Depends on your state's laws. Missouri added "recklessly" to their wordage. "Missouri prohibits anyone from recklessly selling, leasing, loaning, giving away or delivering ammunition to a person who is intoxicated." So we can sell ammo inside the state, but if you're from one state, sell to someone in another state, then you have to deal with the federal prosecutor on his take what the federal laws mean to him/her.

If you're in a state that clearly allows it, it's not uncommon for someone to buy a pallet of ammo for a lot less than individual boxes sell for (per bullet), and have a bunch of friends put in money for it and split it out. It's technically re-selling, even though it's not.

not the deal this used to be, hence the slow sales (still available now)
gold is headed down to 1900 or high 1800s. 1899 plus the cash back is fairly a good deal, or at least much lower risk/better potential upside. $1999 nah.
