ive always been afraid of carrying OTF's and getting stabbed in my thigh...
That fear is unfounded.
OTFs are usually not THAT easy to deploy. And if it does there is not enough power behind the blade to do alot of damage.
If you deploy the blade with your hand in front of the blade, it will leave a small pin prick from the tip. Sure it will hurt but it wont stab through your hand.
got an order confirmation. put an order in when this first went live. I have a Hogue OTF and a knock off clone Microtech. This is the cheapest I've ever seen a full size (3"+) legit Microtech and had to jump in.
Expensive is a relative term but genuinely curious what makes this knife desirable? Is it the quality of the blade, technology, brand, and/or something else?

Microtech is very highly regarded in the knife community. High-end steels and heat treatment, great customer service and made in the USA. There is a bit of a hype factor in the price sure, but what high quality item that's popular doesn't have that? This is a tier of knife that you can every-day-carry (unlike boutique $$$ knives), yet still be able to hand it down to your grandkids.
