The Grand Canyon 5 (red) hard tail mountain bike has been on sale for some time. Shipping is currently $100 but was previously free for Early Black Friday and still is on other bikes, not sure if that will change.
Sizes XS, M, L and XL are in stock. S goes in and out of stock.
Red model is with Suntour X1 fork, slightly heavier than the XCM on the blue bike.
See previous thread for the blue bike too, components are identical except the fork:

Blue bike is currently only available in outlet at 599 without free shipping.
Note: There's some confusion about model years for these bikes. Customer support said red is 2022 and blue is 2023, but image names on the product listings say red is 2023 and blue is 2021.

...because everything else here is really thoughtfully done. The manual and videos make sense, packaging is done sensibly and with spacers to avoid damage, and they even included a torque wrench (in addition to the usual pedal wrench)! I'll be putting it together in a couple of days and then will know whether everything lines up.

Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!
RE better bikes - this is the best option in this price range that I could find. The other one I was looking at is the Polygon xtrada 5. Jenson has some good options in the 1k range, as does bikesonline. The RHT mountain bike may eventually be back in stock but it's a risky buy IMO.
BTW I put together the bike, needed minor derailleur adjustment and moderate truing of the front wheel, the latter was a bit disappointing but it's all good now. I'm not sure why they're no longer offering free shipping on this bike but still do on the others... will update the listing.

Thanks for the reply! Weird that the website states tapered on the red models since that would require a new frame. Rockshox does make some straight steerer options in their air forks so it's not a total dead end.
Still, I think it's the best value other than the Royce Union RHT, which I bought as well for my son. I did manage to get a referral link for $100 off so it came out to the same price as free shipping.
The Red Grand Canyon 5 is the same as the blue except for the fork. From what I can tell it may be better on the red, but close. The $99 shipping unfortunately adds 20%. The free shipping only lasted for a weekend a couple of weeks ago when 1/2 the sizes were not in stock.
