Probably, but I've heard anecdotal stories of people who say this helped provide symptom relief from people with upper gi problems. I'm a skeptical dietitian, but if the placebo works, take it

This is absolutely a marketing gimmick. KOH is potassium hydroxide, a common and cheap base (alkaline). By default an Alkaline substance CAN help with upset stomach, but you are paying a premium for a non-premium product. TUMS (or similar) work exactly the same way.
