No, not faster. Not even really slimmer. Wouldn't trade a perfectly good PS5 for a slim for any reason. The "upgraded" Pro model is rumored for 2024.

Not bad, but I don't necessarily see the slim as an upgrade over the OG unless you really want that MW3 code at a good discount. I might do something like this when/if a PS5 Pro comes along though.

Ugh great deal if you don't have to pay tax. I called a few gamestops in my area and they said sales taxes owed is be based on sales price and trade in credit doesn't deduct it. In this case, my tax is 10.25% so it would cost an extra $50 bringing the total to $150 to upgrade the same console. That brings the deal into not worth the effort territory

I did this yesterday. The extra $50 automatically applies towards the PS5 slim. Make sure you bring everything with you including the stand. I forgot mine and the guy wouldn't take the trade in without it so I had to go back home and get it. Also make sure everything is working or they will charge you a fee. I am selling the COD MW3 digital code to offset the price of the upgrade. It's the cross over bundle and includes the lockpick operator pack. I have gotten 5 people interested but still have the code.

Looks are subjective but this is definitely a good deal for those that have a PS5 near its end of life or a first gen with a loud fan.

What's the total value for a Series X?

I remember a few months back where it was possible to trade a Series X for a new PlayStation for literally less than $20 for Pro members when the PS5 was on-sale for $449 and they were offering the additional trade-in values.

That being said, I've redeemed over a year of Game Pass so I might just hold onto my Series X. Waiting for the next PS5 deal to buy one, probably this season.

Watching the tear down vids and while components are the same the chassis build quality is cheaper on the slim as with most slim variants.

Pro Store Credit $357.20 for PS5 OG
+ extra $50 trade in = 407.20
- $25 for Pro subscription = $382.20

PS5 Slim MW3 bundle $499 + Tax ~$540

So 540-382= $158 for new PS5 plus MW3 game
Not the slickest of deals but i guess its worth a new warranty at the very least

In my experience with the PS2, at least, Sony doesn't pay attention to the timing of the warranty.

Truth be told any customers with active Xbox/PlayStation Plus subscriptions are likely to be taken care of by the company should be there be any warranty claims.

One of the reasons I consider the Slim to be more valuable is that it will likely hold a higher trade-in value in the future.

Yes. Although no stores have it in stock. You would need to go to the store, trade in the PS5 and then you'll get trade credit and you can use that online or wait for them to get them in store.
