I don't even know what base means because I don't know enough about music. Is that a drum or a base type of guitar. I do remember sitting around playing "radio" with some friends and my brother and sister. We would record snippets of songs on a cassette and then talk about them, pretending we were the dj's or whatever. But Billie Jean came on and we just sat there and recorded the whole thing and stared at the radio. Just an amazing song. I'm not a Michael Jackson apologist at all, but it's a great song.
People of WalMart...It is mean, but I think you can go there and not be stunned to see some really messy people. I am quite messy lately so I'm certainly no better though. But, you can run in to CVS and sometimes there are messy people and sometimes there are not. You can always find them at WalMart.
The Loss Leaders are interesting. We were semi-poor, often poor but lived in a rich town. Separated parents so my mom was always broke, but she wouldn't look at ads or buy cheap stuff. She told me it was tacky, but I love it. My husband and I like to find the deals and be cheap, and save our money for other things that we can't cheap out on (which isn't much. We find ways to be cheap about most things. We rarely cheap out on cat food though, and we do go to Disney World a lot.) She couldn't never shop much with me though. I could go to ten stores looking for the perfect jacket or pair of shoes (with just a slight difference), but my mother would just settle for whatever and not care.
Funny because we almost went to Arby's today. Husband LOVES Arby's but my daughter is only into McDonald's. Son and I are vegetarians but I have modified the sandwiches at Arby's and they are fine. Husband showed me the 5 for $5 deal when we got home and he was telling the pets they could have each had their own roast beef sandwiches.
I was talking about a bunch of things so it's no wonder that you were confused. Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac is one of the greatest rock drummers ever. The bass player John McVie is solid as a rock. They held down the groove but didn't get the fame that the rest of the group did. Nothing against Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie, they're amazing and Lindsey Buckingham is one of the great rock guitarists. There's an early version of Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green that's worth listening to. It's very different from Rumors. I love the bass leading up to the guitar solo on The Chain. For me, that's the highlight of the song. Evil Woman by Black Sabbath (on the British edition of their first album) has a fantastic bass line. The bass on Highway Star by Deep Purple creates so much energy in the song. The lyrics are stupid but who cares. The drummer for Deep Purple is solid as a rock. You can pick many other groups where the rhythm section is on fire. These three groups are what came to mind when I was typing it up.
Chris Squire's performance on Roundabout is epic. There's nothing more to say. Stanley Clarke is considered by many people (myself included) as the greatest living bassist. There are so many other great bass players but Stanley Clarke is just a notch better. That's my opinion. Feel free to disagree. I forget the other bassists and songs that I talked about. Under Pressure should've been on there. Sometimes I love the song but other times I hate it. It depends on the mood I'm in.

For those that don't know, there was a poster 'here' that turned me into the Publix district manager for posting the ad on Monday's. SOB wasn't happy that I got the Publix print ad two days early (that was available at the end of the counter for anyone on Monday at my particular store) and I willingly spent time to type up the ad on Mondays. That was the end of getting the ad early and typing it up. This was before IHP started putting the ad up and before the affiliates got the ad in the mail early.
Thank you for sharing your deals LB. I've admitted I was jealous of your coupon finds in the past. I guess we have to just overlook the nitpicking and go on with our lives.

I don't see a hot deal this week at CVS that most people couldn't have figured out. Maybe there's something that hasn't been talked about but then it wouldn't be picked to death. I don't do Ibotta so I never would've figured out that Poise was a hot deal but I get a lot of $4 and $5 email coupons so I don't need the Ibotta offer. I don't need Poise either lol.
I always find myself going elsewhere to look for deals. SD is only about chat for me and most people don't use the chat thread that much. Maybe I post too much and it keeps people away. If so, I'm sorry about that and I'll shut up. Posting is therapy for me. There's way too much stress in my life. Don't take anything I say seriously except for my health issues. Those are for real.

I think for me, the few times I think I discover something, I just want to share it because it feels fun and exciting. A lot of people on SD are super helpful and it makes you want to be helpful too, plus you get proud when you think you figure something out.
I'm trying to re-stock my conditioner (scraggly tangley hair that needs a lot of conditioner) so I'm fine with this week's CVS deals, and I bought a couple cheap Cover Girl lipsticks. I'm trying to put on some makeup and not dress like a "Walmart Shopper" too much. I'm not in y 30's (or 40's) anymore but my husband does a lot for us and he didn't really sign up for me running around looking like a mess. Also people tend to be nicer when I pull it together a little. Just trying to say that I still need lots of beauty products in my life, and I want and need to be able to get good deals on them.
The Ibotta etc. marketing is hard to figure out. I guess people are so trained to look for deals that the cosmetic companies need to keep offering them. Sometimes I try to figure out what they get out of it though. I know certain brands can claim to be the number one seller of this or that, but is it worth it to offer such deals? But then probably most people just buy whatever conditioner at full price but complain that it's expensive. Interesting and confusing. Anybody here with marketing insights?
Same with fast food. Yes it got more expensive, but if you use the apps and stuff, you can get some great deals. (But can someone give me a tutorial on the Taco Bell app? Do you have to order ahead through the app to redeem the deals?) Daughter wants a double burger and fries and a coke from McDonald's. We used to have the 3.99 bundle where you can get the double cheeseburger (we ask for no cheese) and fries for 3.99, so it would be 5.xx for her whole meal. I think that is okay. Then they did away with that deal so it got a little more expensive. But now it's baseball season and I am right between the Mets and the Phillies markets, so lots of free fries. There is one great McDonald's that we sometimes go to that has a double hamburger and is only like 2.55, so that's a great deal. I assume you (Pickle) eat more than a teen girl though.
