FALL-WINTER 2023 Shopping Fun and Frustrations!!!!

Over the years there have been incredible posters who shared freely, but were driven off by self-appointed deal critics (or by jealous nit-pickers). It's sad that anonymity can cause such vile and/or venomous commentary. Most of us have had their scourge dumped on us. I assume all of us can read deals from a rebate offer or store, we don't need someone else's interpretation of the words. Why some people get accounts locked and others don't, is simply the luck (or unluck) of the AI computer techs. If everyone would just appreciate another's post, then we'd all be in a better spot.

Same with fast food. Yes it got more expensive, but if you use the apps and stuff, you can get some great deals. (But can someone give me a tutorial on the Taco Bell app? Do you have to order ahead through the app to redeem the deals?) Daughter wants a double burger and fries and a coke from McDonald's. We used to have the 3.99 bundle where you can get the double cheeseburger (we ask for no cheese) and fries for 3.99, so it would be 5.xx for her whole meal. I think that is okay. Then they did away with that deal so it got a little more expensive. But now it's baseball season and I am right between the Mets and the Phillies markets, so lots of free fries. There is one great McDonald's that we sometimes go to that has a double hamburger and is only like 2.55, so that's a great deal. I assume you (Pickle) eat more than a teen girl though.

Lakebreeze you are THE most honest poster who has ever been on here in my opinion. And it really makes me angry when some of these (a word I will not say) attack you of all people. Yes, not many good deals posters left who are brave enough to withstand the onslaught. .

What happened? I'm trying to understand these posts and I'm unable to. Was LB attacked for something she posted? That's crazy if it happened. As for me, I'm used to being attacked. It's not a normal day if I don't piss 20 people off.

No, nothing that I've seen lately. I was merely responding to her reflective post. Lakebreeze posts so helpfully in the Kroger thread a lot, and there are a couple of self-righteous people there who find fault with every post. It has always irritated me more with LB, I suppose simply because she is such an honest couponer.
I remember a while back, someone actually accused her of fraud. I hit the ceiling.

There are still helpful posts on SD. People just have to be willing to share a find, especially in various stores' closeouts and the mark-downs.
Maybe, we need to add a little humor into things. Ignoring the nit-pickers will give them less to pick on. Couponing has changed so much over the years, some are slow to adapt since it requires more efforts. Companies are not as charitable as they once were--it's a dog eats dog world out there.

For those that don't know, there was a poster 'here' that turned me into the Publix district manager for posting the ad on Monday's. SOB wasn't happy that I got the Publix print ad two days early (that was available at the end of the counter for anyone on Monday at my particular store) and I willingly spent time to type up the ad on Mondays. That was the end of getting the ad early and typing it up. This was before IHP started putting the ad up and before the affiliates got the ad in the mail early.

I started on AFC, Monkeydawn was fabulous on there. But now, they're all gone, the really good sites.

What the best way you have found for entry tickets? Interested in 3 days for 5 adults, 2 kids. Maybe Parkhopper if the premium isnt too much.

Looking at the three days before Easter next year, which was unfortunately during blackout for military discounts this year so I am anticipating the same next year.



Ugh. So gross! Back in the day it was always a bit of a friendly competition to see who could get the CVS ad first between the AFC, WUC and IH peeps but we would always email it to share and usually WUC and AFC would split the writeups so that one person wasnt doing everything. Didi (WUC) could get an ad written up faster than anyone else I think. I was always so slow if I was working from someone elses pictures. Then she shared the tip to have the ad up on a different computer so you didnt have to flip back and forth.

In a HUGE coincidence I found out that someone in my neighborhood used to be an old couponing buddy way back in the day. We only communicated online and didnt know each other's real names back on the coupon boards. Ive been seeing this person socially maybe once a month for the past few years at neighborhood events, parties, etc. since I moved here 9 years ago. Well about a year and a half ago she emailed that she wanted to come to a comedy night that I was organizing and when I saw her email address I just about died when I realized I knew her from 15+ years ago when we both lived in the NE. Down here in NC we just dont have the abundance of stores we had up north so neither one of us are couponing a lot now but it was so crazy to realize Ive known her for an additional 6+ years. LOL

Was your name Monkeydawn on AFC? I was there for a year but I never posted. I rememeber Didi. She was awesome. I don't remember you from AFC but you probably moved on by the time I got there. I do remember you from here. Monkeydawn is a name that's hard to forget. Does it have something to do with the military? I remember Lakebreeze from way back. She has always been so nice. So has Jcdc. Anybody who attacked you guys had to be out of their minds. I didn't realize back then how great couponing was. I thought it would always be like that but the stores had different plans. The downfall of couponing started with Jailme and the tv show. I miss the old days when SD was a secret site and the people who posted on here came up with amazing deals every week. When I think of CVS, I always think of Rydergal. I really miss her. Schnauzermomma has been amazing over the years. She's held SD together more than anyone. I really miss when Kiki did the CVS write up. The ad is so confusing but Kiki made it simple. It must've taken hours of hard work for her to do that every week. A lot of the hard work that people do goes unappreciated and then sometimes they get attacked because somebody has a stick up their you know what. When I was on here before I got attacked all of the time. I put myself out there and tried to make the thread I did fun but some people didn't appreciate it and thought that I should be deadly serious. I should've gone on youtube. I'd have a million followers by now. My thread on here was getting 20,000 hits a week back then and it wasn't even a deal thread. I miss doing the thread. It was a lot of fun and I love to write and come up with crazy stuff but now there's nothing to write about. The econonmy is doing so well but all of the deals have dried up and everybody had cracked down on couponers. Things go up and things do down. The stores won't always be doing so great and then they think that we'll come back like nothing happened. They're in for a big surprise.
