I went to one CVS in Las Vegas, and one Walgreens. The CVS wasn't by the strip, it was by Henderson I think. I did notice a LOT of empty shelves and locked up product, much emptier than you see here in New Jersey. Also some people asking for money outside. I should have been nicer but it caught me off guard and I was a mental wreck anyway. I saw another customer go buy a drink for a guy who needed it, so that was nice. Nice to see people taking care of each other. The Walgreen's was near Circus Circus and I think it was pretty normal. Lots of food products.
And those with living dads, hope you're celebrating while he's with you!
All mine are gone. I was trying to think of a nice tribute, and decided to just go with what comes to mind first
My "real"/bio dad served in WWII entertainment corps, and unlike his fellow soldiers was allowed to check out his instrument - a bass-and keep it in the barracks. One day there was a surprise inspection and the 2 guys in the barracks rushed to do what they could before the (general?) actually entered the barracks. They put the bass on a bunk and covered it with a blanket.
The general/inspector walked right up to that bunk, and said "Ten hut!!"
No response from the bass.
"On your feet soldier!"
My dad would end the story there, I never knew what happened when the wooden "soldier" was revealed.
My foster dad, a Czech who had to dig ditches in Poland for the Nazis and then WALK home, and when communism took over had to jump the fence to escape, and eventually became a Baptist preacher(!) told the story of a girl he dated who was so excited when he went to kiss her goodnight
She pee'd on his foot!
My FIL was an FBI agent, whose biggest case averted terrorism within our nation. It was made into one of the FBI Files episodes [youtu.be], he speaks toward the end

I remember a while back, someone actually accused her of fraud. I hit the ceiling.

Yes, I think our good poster days are gone. I don't rep anymore, have become like everyone else i suppose. No one repped sufficiently, but when they did, it made up for the attacks and made you feel like it was worthwhile.
It's past time for SD, at least the B&M drugstore thread to fade completely, like all the other good sites. I started on AFC, Monkeydawn was fabulous on there. But now, they're all gone, the really good sites.
Maybe, we need to add a little humor into things. Ignoring the nit-pickers will give them less to pick on. Couponing has changed so much over the years, some are slow to adapt since it requires more efforts. Companies are not as charitable as they once were--it's a dog eats dog world out there.
Thanks for all of the kind words!

There are so few people I've had consistent issues with on SD, I feel really lucky. Of course, I only go to Hot Deals when I need to find something, and I've honestly forgotten over time the ones who were ugly to me long ago here.
You deserve kind words.
Looking at the three days before Easter next year, which was unfortunately during blackout for military discounts this year so I am anticipating the same next year.
In a HUGE coincidence I found out that someone in my neighborhood used to be an old couponing buddy way back in the day. We only communicated online and didnt know each other's real names back on the coupon boards. Ive been seeing this person socially maybe once a month for the past few years at neighborhood events, parties, etc. since I moved here 9 years ago. Well about a year and a half ago she emailed that she wanted to come to a comedy night that I was organizing and when I saw her email address I just about died when I realized I knew her from 15+ years ago when we both lived in the NE. Down here in NC we just dont have the abundance of stores we had up north so neither one of us are couponing a lot now but it was so crazy to realize Ive known her for an additional 6+ years. LOL

Ugh. So gross! Back in the day it was always a bit of a friendly competition to see who could get the CVS ad first between the AFC, WUC and IH peeps but we would always email it to share and usually WUC and AFC would split the writeups so that one person wasnt doing everything. Didi (WUC) could get an ad written up faster than anyone else I think. I was always so slow if I was working from someone elses pictures. Then she shared the tip to have the ad up on a different computer so you didnt have to flip back and forth.

When I think of the CVS thread a long time ago, I think of Amit. Do you remember her? She (or he, I really don't know) had the best deals!
Writeups, Onedollarorless was great!
It seems to me that the biggest change in couponing came when everything started going digital. Different world of couponing.
You have always made SD fun, and more so, in the last few years when things are not so fun anymore.. Thanks
