The SD website has been really wonky the last few days. I can't reply to a comment without getting an error message. Maybe it knows in advance what I'm going to say lol.

It's a pretty serious screw up to list a coupon that they've blocked from working. You would think that somebody in the process would know that. A high percentage of posts about CVS each week are about coupons not working (usually ip's). I wonder if CVS is adressing the problem or just doesn't care. I don't use ip's but I still have a lot of problems with the correct coupons not working.

I have had a few issues with SD as well, but it hasn't been about my comments. It's more about when I go back and forth between subscribed threads, but so far I can work around it.

CVS has historically issued DQs or CRTs that say they work on items that they don't work on, that is nothing new.

I have a theory about coupons dot com ips. Since they don't work right after they are issued, but sometimes work later on, I have a feeling coupons dot com isn't updating the interface CVS uses to validate ips as soon as they are issued.

Since CVS was burned by so many people photocopying ip coupons, they had to do something to stop the bleeding. Did they overcorrect? Maybe. Or did they correct to a point where it was supposed to allow valid coupons and coupons dot com isn't doing their job? Maybe.

I am finding the ips I receive direct from companies work the first time I try them at CVS, whether I use them on the first day I get them or on a future date.

S'momma, I had to delete your comment because it printed 3 times when I quoted it. Don't ask me why...

The coupons and ecb's don't work on the covid test because insurance is paying for them. You would think that CVS would know this especially since they own an insurance company lmao.

If your theory is correct, CVS should reach out to CDC. Maybe CDC isn't aware of the problem.

CVS can't get burned anymore since they throw out the coupons. If the coupons are copies, who's gonna know?

What really doesn't make sense is that the manufacturers put a limit of 1 on the insert coupons but the only limit to the ip's is how much printer paper you have.

I don't use ip's and I'm advocating copying them. I'm just pointing out how dumb the system is.

The Maybelline deal at CVS is the hottest deal in a very long time.

Today I went to target. I went to purchase an item, and there was a "peelie" coupon on the product for $3.00 off. I gave the item to the casher, and she peeled the coupon off, and scanned my purchase.
When she scanned the coupon, a message came up, saying "not valid at target".
She gave me the $3 anyways.

I went to Target today too, probably a first in more than two years! The store had ONE employee supported register open.

I've never had a problem with a 5/5 J4U working but I've struck out twice with this one. I don't want to call but it looks like I'll have to if it doesn't work again.

Is there a digital coupon in the app? If it is there, maybe they over bought the covid tests and they're trying to get rid of them before they expire. But if the coupon doesn't work online, it might just be another coupon that CVS puts in their app that never works for what we expect it to.

You know, it's CVS, so who really knows for sure!
Thank you for the reminder to request my free tests from the usps.

Last year, I bought various bags of Halloween candy at CVS using various deals. Since I've not been shopping very much at CVS in the last few months, I hadn't bought any yet. Last night, thanks to a post in a Facebook group, I jumped on the DD at Walgreens and picked up the candy today.

What is most interesting to me is last year, so much of the chocolate candy I got at CVS had obviously been melted or was otherwise a little off in taste even though the bags were nowhere near the 'best by' date. Today I opened a couple of bags I got at Walgreens and none of the pieces we opened had been melted. All tasted extremely fresh.

These two stores are less than a mile from each other, but obviously something in the distribution or storage process was different between the two drug stores.

I gave family a bunch of chocolate recently and was told - some was off (too). The candy had come from CVS.
I know previously, Halloween chocolates would arrive at my CVS probably sometime in the summer & would sit in the stores' warehouse for a couple of months.
Could the A/C @ the stores be a culprit?

I haven't had issues with candy bought at Wags / Safeway.

I think one issue is CVS is getting and distributing the candy way too early, though honestly, it has only just started going below a high of 90 degrees a few days recently. Here I wouldn't leave a bag of candy in my car for more than 30 minutes, except maybe January - mid March!

From what I have seen, CVS doesn't use air conditioned trucks to deliver product to the stores, and our trucks traditionally come from a location over 150 miles away. Since one truck will distribute to multiple stores on any given day, products could sit on a truck for 2-3 hours just to get to our city, and then another 3 or 4 hours before arriving at the last store. Add on to that, when the candy arrived to the store in the summer, many/most/all stores probably were storing it in their back room which often are not airconditioned.

I am not familiar enough with Walgreens to know how products like candy are distributed to them. Safeway gets trucks at least a couple of times a week, and a lot of their trucks have to be air conditioned. Maybe they are just smart enough to know candy that melts needs to be shipped in a refrigerated truck?

I've been saying forever that the food from CVS doesn't taste as good as it does from other stores. That being said, I got a Hershey's bag of chocolates from CVS recently and it tasted great. The cereal I got from CVS has also tasted great. The biggest problem I've had is with Pepperidge Farm cookies. They taste awful from CVS. Vons got in their store brand jelly beans a couple of days ago. There must've been 20 bags on the shelf. The next day they were gone. Nobody seems to stock jelly beans these days so when you see them you've got to act fast even if it's the Vons band.

I say that about Rite Aid. I will not purchase any food products from them, anymore. The breaking point was when I purchase 2 bags of sealed candy from RA, and both of them had a terrible mildew odor once I opened them.

Sorry that happened to you. Is that after the bankruptcy? I haven't been to RA since early Feb. I used to get their jelly beans and they were always fine. I've made a lot of food purchases from RA and the only problem I ever had was with Pepsi. For some reason, it was always wet. I've noticed that with the Pepsi at my local Vons, too. I'm in SoCal and it never rains here so I can't figure out how it gets wet. It's not sticky like it's syrup. It's water. Sometimes the cartons fall apart when you pick them up. The other brands like Coke aren't wet and Mountain Dew (which is owned by Pepsi) isn't wet. It's just Pepsi. With the price we pay for soda pop these days, you would think that they could get it to the store dry and tasting fresh. I've also had problems with the soda pop tasting flat (all brands) which is ridiculous. It's such a pain to have to go back there and exchange it. I'm not going to pay that much for soda pop (even after all of my discounts) and have it not taste right.

Chocolate is about the main thing I have found 'off' tasting at CVS, and it's usually only the bags of individual bars. There have been a few other times things were a bit weird tasting, but I have bought plenty of cereal and cereal bars at CVS that have been fine. In fact, as I go other places more now, I can see that CVS has some of the best sales on cereal and cereal bars.

If you've recently purchased frozen waffles, read the listeria recall https://www.treehousefoods.com/ne...fault.aspx

Basically every store brand of frozen waffles: WM, Target, Aldi, Food Lion, HEB, Hannaford, Price Chopper, Schnucks, Dollar General, Publix, Harris Teeter, etc. and Kodiak name brand as well.
