I was curious if this brand was supported by Home Assistant given the recent lockdown of MyQ's API rendering it incompatible with third party integrations - for others who might be wondering I couldn't find Home Zone in Home Assistant's integrations list.

It's not about being able to tap on screen or anything. People who do that (like me) use it to implement opening/closing garage to home automations. I.e: People arrive > open garage, turn on light, turn on fan, turn on heater; People leave > close garage, lock the door, turn off everything etc. Just saying.

Interesting that their site no longer list the garage door opener.

I am not a big fan of fly by night companies having my address and an API to unlock my house. Hackers dream. I suspect they realized this.

Thinking of replacing MYQ as it doesn't work anymore. Some reason, it only provide the correct status open/close but when try to remotely open or close, it does not work.

For ppl who has the same issue with MyQ + HomeBridge/Hoobs:

I recently struggled with the MyQ service breaking down in HomeBridge, as MyQ stopped supporting third-party APIs. Consequently, I purchased the Insignia Wi-Fi Garage Door Controller for Apple HomeKit from eBay, (this product is no longer available on the market). Unfortunately, it turned out to be incompatible with my Chamberlain garage door opener. However, I discovered a solution on Reddit involving direct soldering to the garage door remote. It was relatively straightforward, and it works very well.

Should've tried the Meross garage opener. They will ship out a universal remote for incompatible garage brands. At least $45 is not crazy expensive for a HK supported opener.

I was in the same boat with everyone with MyQ API breaking 3rd party integration (such as: Home Assistant)
I recently bought a ratgdo [github.io] and been overall very happy with it. Not only it provides all the feature MyQ provides, but it's all local and not dependent with their cloud provider.
It does also support to lock all your wireless remotes (let's say it's automatically enabled at night or when you are on a vacation) for adding an extra layer of security
I recommend to check it out and not afraid to do a little wiring to your opener.

I think the whole point of adding this type of device is for automation or other added value (security for example). I personally prefer physical buttons vs a screen. But if all of that can be done automatically, it's a plus. But it's definitely not for everyone

Exactly. One of the routines I had previously with MyQ was to shut the garage door (if open) every evening at 9:30 pm. This way we didn't have to be concerned about the door being left open by the kids overnight.

Does the 3MP camera need a base/master hub unit, or can it be run as a standalone wifi camera?

Having the same issue I even called them and they said that they're not phasing it out but I don't believe it I read an article somewhere that they were the MyQ Chamberlain

FWIW, this is possible in the MyQ app. Still looking for my MyQ replacement to get it in HA though
