And I will say frankly I was surprised by how well it runs given the meager specs on paper. I came from a decade-old Intel hackintosh that was overspec'd at the time I built it (16GB ram, SSD boot drive, i7, etc.) and the M1 just does everything so much better.
Of course, if you're doing video editing or rendering all day long, you'll probably want something higher powered than this.
But for the average home user, the base M1 model is really impressive. I was amazed that I can run DrawThings.ai locally and get a 512x512 image in about a minute or two on a $500 piece of hardware.
But this should still be $450 to be on Slickdeals. lol
