ALR = Ambient Light Rejection.

Basically the material is (on a very tiny scale) ridged/zigzagged so that one facet is facing your projector directly and the other side of the "ridge" is catching the light from above/ahead/the rest of the room. That way your eye only sees the portion that's bouncing back the full-strength projected image at you, rather than a washed-out picture that's competing with the rest of the ambient light. A diagram helps to explain this, too.

I want one, the above excerpt is how I'd attempt to sell my wife on the idea. I would not succeed. Hope this helps you!

Alot if you have a short throw projector and any kind of ambient or outside lighting while you watch it.

Good morning,
This is the same as the Daylight screen that comes with the L9G.
You can scroll down on the link below for more information on the screen
https://www.hisense-usa.com/telev...ght-screen [hisense-usa.com]
Please confirm they are the same as that link showed the model number of the L9G screen as DLT100B and this is DLT100A. Does this have 5.2 gain (as the L9G has)?

I saw this screen in person at a projector shootout (if it's the same as the one used for H9G) and it's very good . Other people there felt that way too. And it does cost $1,800.

This comment deserves more TH than TU… he presented zero fact and just basically said "trust me, don't trust Hisense"

Is this good to use with a normal projector? Or UST only?

Not ashamed to say I briefly saw this and thought the projector was included! laugh out loud

I was trying to find out the resolution when I realized it was only the screen. LMAO

sorry for the dumb question but this needs a short throw projector to pair with? can someone post some links of few of those?
how is the clarity of these screens when compared to traditional TVs

Here's a link to Projector Central's [projectorcentral.com] Top 10 list of Ultra Short Throw (UST) projectors. Search for UST in slickdeals (using the projector category) to find some of the recent deals from HiSense, LG, Optoma, Samsung, and others.

This can depend a lot upon viewing distance, though perhaps I might need more clarity on the usage of the term clarity.

Any direct comparison between projection and other display types typically starts with brightness and challenges around the impacts of room illumination. This issue is in fact why ALR screen types, as in this deal, are significant.

Good luck!
Jon

100" is too small, if your projector could do more!

I have yet to see any ALR screen cost less than $500.

The price is way too high. Doesn't deserve en fuego status?
