This drive uses QLC NAND (slower continuous writes, less total write cycle). Not the best for a Surface, but more than enough for Steam Deck or alike.
So is it better for data storage instead of OS? I would assume for OS, better to use p44? I wonder if it can go lower next week Black Friday or this is the lowest?
If only Microsoft would allow us to officially use these with an xbox
I know right? I can only hope that with two suppliers the price of those drives drops closer to the price of 2230 drives. I think I would happily pay $50 to add 1 TB.
Not slow enough. Load all your games into the Steam Deck with a microSD card!
Even Valve ships some Steam Decks with slower Gen3x2 which is around 1500MB/s drives. Doesn't seem to effect the loading time because APU has limited bandwidth

P44 doesn't have a 2230 version. If you have an m.2 2280 slot, it would perform much better than P41.

Yeah i just found out that the form factor for this deal is 2230, which is not supported for my desktop. I need nvme for data storage only, as i already have P44 for my windows 11.
What would you recommend something not costly for data storage? My desktop can support 110, 42, 60, and 80 form factor

What do you mean it's too slow? You know the deck's using pcei gen3 right which means read/write will only max out at ~3gigs even if the drive itself can do more.
