This thing is iconic. You can probably find one on your local Marketplace for less. I have one thats 20+ years old and its great.

I'm really struggling to understand what's the different between this Workbench 225 and the lower end Workbench 125 [homedepot.com] minus what looks like a foot stool.

Does anyone know?

I believe so, I have the 125 and it's great without the footstool, although I can see the benefits of the footstool

It is more for a woodworking, for example, u do need that foodstool for doing hand planing. Also, it has two height setting for different jobs. But if you just want some stand like supporting the mitersaw. There is no big difference between 125 and 225.

I'm pretty sure it's the same, if so, it's cheaper at Amazon

Years ago I had the Workbench 400. That was a great portable bench. The newer 425 is not as good. This one is the 225 which is even lighter duty. Is it worth $50? Might be for some of you.

I got one of these with the HD deal earlier this month. My wife was skeptical about me needing it but it is really useful and folds up nicely. I don't know how I worked on my homes so long without one.

I've had one of these for a decade, the only thing I think it is useful for is for painting, does a good job holding something in a odd position so you can paint at an otherwise weird angle. For a saw stand, to hold wood, etc to me it is more dangerous than helpful. If you don't own a workbench and a vise (mine is cheapo from Amazon) it may be more useful to you.

That being said...I wouldn't sell it for just being such a good assistant on small rattlecan jobs.

I have a 125 and it works well as a secondary work holder, meaning you use it to support the far end of a piece of baseboard or something similar.

I could see that and admittedly haven't thought about that use case. Thanks!

Just a heads up: this is not the same quality as the legacy model we all know.

There's nothing wrong with it, is made of a thinner gauge metal, and feels like half the weight. Still functions and performs well. I have both the old one and this one and tend to use the newer one because it's so lightweight.

If you're dead set on getting the older one, keep an eye out on marketplace/offerup/etc. they tend to show up a lot.

Great price, definitely recommend!
