The 6ah 2 packs go on sale for around $115 shipped every once in a while, so the 8ah 2 pack here comes out to $185 ish. The 6ah batteries make noticeably more power when used on tools like grinders, saws and impact wrenches. Something to keep in mind if you don't need the batteries immediately.

I'm thinking this means Milwaukee will begin heavy marketing of the new Forge batteries next year. Supposedly the new pouch cells in it can continuously discharge up to 100amps - a massively powerful amount of power going into tools and machines.

I'm thinking this means that Home Depot's holiday promo for buy an 8ah and 6ah battery and get a free bare tool isn't selling for shit, so they are trying to move some units

This is exactly what prevented me from buying in on this deal. I have a ton of 6.0 I got for under $10/ah this year. Really can't justify any more batteries even though this is a very good deal as well

Yeah exactly if the free tools were better many of us would have probably purchased that pack

I mean, they definitely aren't swaying anyone to grab them by offering up the brushed circular saw or oscillating tool. That's for sure

It's a "Mikwaukee" decision, though...not a "Home Depot" decision

I love how the photo shows two different physically sized batteries, but in reality the 6 and 8 are the exact same size.

Why do the 6ah batteries perform better than the 8ah ? just curious since I have a few 8ah

the samsung 30T cells in the 6Ah battery can discharge significantly faster than the samsung 40T cells in the 8ah battery, allowing the tool to draw more power IF it needs it. it won't make any difference on something like a 1/4" impact, but on a 1/2" high torque (2767 or 2967) you can get an extra 100 ft pounds tightening. on a grinder or a 7' saw, the difference is even more pronounced as those tools can draw even more power than any 1/2" impact. i've seen 20% gains in power using 6ah batteries

this is not unique to milwaukee. the same exact thing applies to dewalt 6ah and 8ah batteries. they use the same exact battery cells inside. Samsung 30T in the 6ah and 40T in the 8ah.

it's not that the samsung 40T cells are bad, they are actually very good. but the small capacity 30T cells are absolutely insane. if 21700 sized lithium cells had an equivalent of a dodge hell cat engine, the 30T would be it. they are so good that they just about match the power output of milwaukee's shiny new $200-a-pop "forge" batteries.

Higher amp discharge rate. Cells are higher discharge, lower capacity
