There are ways which have been used to successfully unlock AT&T phones without waiting for 60 days.

ATT requires 60 days active before unlocking the phone. However, there is SIM Swap method which worked well in the past for unlocking paid-off ATT phones right away.

1. ATT changed their unlock policy on 3/18 to require 60 days of service before they can unlock a fully paid device. Previously, it used to be right away if you have paid in full.
2. There two timeline for the cancellation. If you cancel a line before 3 days it was active then the activation fee is waived. If you cancel it within 14 days from activation under buyers remorse then no bill is charged but activation fees need to be paid. The line activates on right when you place the order not the day you receive the phone on hand so you might have to pay the activation fee of $35.
3. You can use a tello number and port to ATT but you would have to make sure porting is successful by going to https://www.att.com/portstatus/. Many from z fold 3 got stuck in porting limbo and got the ATT account cancelled.
4. As with many deals here, a SIM swap method is found which can be used to unlock the device. This was working recently but not sure if ATT would fix it by the time you try it. The steps are as follows.
a. Pay in full for the phone. While your payment will quickly reflect in your account it will be at least a few hours before it updates for the unlock request.
b. When you receive the phone activate it on ATT with the SIM provided. Make sure it shows up on myATT app/in the web so ATT knows and registers the IMEI in the network. Then put the SIM in another unlocked phone, reboot, make some calls and make sure this unlocked phone is now showing under the line in app/web portal.
c. Now go to ATT unlock portal https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/ and then choose not an ATT customer and use the IMEI of ATT phone and submit an unlock request.DO NOT attempt more than twice or you will be blocked for 24 hours.
d.Confirm the unlock request email and receive the unlock code.
e. Only cancel the line after you have unlocked the phone.

Then after unlocking if you are feeling adventurous and want to flash the phone to an unlocked firmware to get rid of ATT bloat you can follow these steps. It's actually very easy to do with Odin.

1. There are many models of s22 ultra but in US two models are imp. S908U is carrier locked version and S908U1 is the unlocked US version. The firmware for these versions are interchangeable so you can flash the ATT model with S908U1 firmware.
2. Download patched odin v3.14.1_3B_PatchedD.zip from https://xdaforums.com/t/patched-o...1.3762572/ as regular odin does not allow flashing mismatched firmware.
3. Download the firmware from S908U1 XAA version from https://samfrew.com/model/SM-S908U1/region/XAA/ Extract as there will be multiple files.
4. Connect S22U to the windows PC.
5 .Put s22u in download/recovery/odin mode. Power down. Press Volume up and down together and then press Volume up to go into recovery (a green screen would appear).
6. Start odin and then select different files for different categories and then start.
7, It should be now the US unlocked version.

I would just look for a Note 10+ , has MicroSD, no support, but I think there are some out there for $200, I think the 10+ has 12GB of ram, less hertz but better quality image

Verizon:

1. Under no circumstance, do NOT put the Verizon sim card into the phone unless you want a 60 day lock.
2. Ok let's free our minds devices. I bought a AT&T prepaid card from walmart [walmart.com] for $10 (also available at Best Buy [bestbuy.com] and Target [target.com]). Other users report success with H2O $1 sim from Target [target.com] or Best Buy [bestbuy.com].
3. First phone boot was with the AT&T card. In settings, about device showed sim locked.
4. Visit https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/ and click "start an unlock request"
5. Choose no mobile number from AT&T and enter the IMEI from setting, about. Don't enter the IMEI2 which is for your phones esim.
6. Check your email & junk folder to click link from email to "confirm your request". I got email nearly immediately that my unlock was approved.
7. Now reset the phone. I left the AT&T sim in it. Now the phone shows no sim restrictions. Note you might not have to do the reset. I read that just changing the sim should cause the phone to show no sim restriction but I reset mine.
8. Put whatever sim in it you would like.
Did you realize that Verizon instructions that you posted are for iphone not for android.

No way , VZN android can be unlocked before 60 days unless you have old account in good standing and put your existing sim card in phone , call customer service to raise special request to unlock, which may get accepted or denied.

Ah, you are right. I did ATT before myself and I copied the VZW from the wiki of your other thread but reading through the post I realize that trick is only going to work for iphones. I'll update the post.

I have been waiting for a deal on a Galaxy, and was almost tempted with the iphone 13 deal at Walmart. I have a S21 5G with a battery that only last a 1/2 day.and a USB C charge port that has seen better days. They will give $105 for trade in which seems wise. Thanks OP

I have the Note 10+, 256gb with a 256gb SD card and I love it, but between the battery and 60hz screen I've been wanting to upgrade. Still runs great and always snappy, but I have a 165hz computer monitor so I'm spoiled and the max of 60 is starting to get to me lol. But at this price for 4gb less RAM than I already have I feel like I would be downgrading. Is the screen actually nicer on the 10+?
lus I can't seem to get the cameras to take super nice pics. Videos are extremely crisp but pictures always seem compressed.

No SD slot is a MAJOR deal breaker for me, but if I have to deal without I would have to get a 512GB for photo storage, but Samsung makes sure they cost a LOT more than they should. Really sucks they're doing Apple sales tactics now.

I heard you can do a 30-day plan and wait another 30 days to get it unlocked. Is it real? Thanks

Don't recommend. Everything is great except for the awful battery life.

I'd like to keep my existing phone number and existing plan with Mint, can I still do this deal? Can I buy this phone with a new ATT/Verison plan, unlock and cancel the plan and the new number, then put my old sim into the new phone?

Does the same method work for other phone models? This S22 Ultra seems only has the 128G option with no capacity for an additional storage card. It seems S22 plus has a 256G option, I wonder if I can use the method in this post to buy S22 plus

Is this really a deal for a 2 year old phone with only 128gb?

I am curious why 128GB is not enough. I have always just used Google Photos and store all video & photos on the cloud (or Amazon Photos if you have Prime). Just delete when the phone starts to fill.
