I'm looking for one for Florida beaches. These wheels , like most, look bad for sand. Need ones that look like a tiny version of water trike wheels.

Check out the Wonder Wheeler. There's models with two different types of wheels including the tiny water trike ones.

I have this one and it broke after the second time using it in the sand. A clip for one of the tires came off and can't be replaced. Don't buy it!!

Not sure why people are having issues. We live at the beach and load this thing up including a cooler and use it all the time. No issues at all. Going on 2 seasons. Just a slight bit of rust appearing. Sure, bigger wheels would be better on the sand, but these work just fine and my petite wife manages it without help while I'm dragging the baby stroller and surfboard.

edit: only criticism now that I think of it is that the extendable arm doesn't "lock" into position (6yo son can pull it with the arm partially collapsed). but, that's it!

I have been using this same one for 3 years, we load tons onto it, prob close to 100 lbs. and it does work better than others in the sand but its still hard to pull and will give you a workout. You are more or less dragging it through the sand with that much stuff. But, I have seen people with wheels that are thinner that are impossible for them to even try to get theirs through the sand. Just not willing to spend hundreds of dollars for those beach carts with the giant grey wheels that are like $100+ a wheel. Someone else mentioned the pin for the wheel. Ours popped out somehow on the OC boardwalk and I somehow luckily was able to find it when I ran back to look. Guessing they have the pins in case you need to replace a wheel. The thing is absolutely awesome in other scenarios with hard surfaces or dirt paths.
Our inner flatbottom piece cracked though cause of our kids and at this price, I am prob gonna buy another as a backup.

I will bite and see how it goes. Haven't seen any cheaper and don't want to spend 100+

Had the same one for about 3 years using it about 4 times a year in FL. No issues with anything. Highly recommended!

Like others have said, I'm not sure what issues people are having with this. I've had it for two years and used it multiple times in the Florida sandy beaches with no issues. Pulling it in the sand will give you a workout fully loaded but the ones with skinny tires are worse. The ones with large/fat rubber tires are probably the only ones easier to pull than this. For this price I'd recommend.

Despite the name and despite the fact that they put giant wheels on it, this thing does NOT roll through sand, it sleighs through. You have been warned.

and I'm not a mechanical engineer or anything, but you think they would design the wheels low profile and closer to the ground in order to increase the frictional force with the sand

Are the wheels themselves durable? I have a wagon from Costco with the thin solid wheels and it can take a beating. I'm afraid of the wheels aren't solid on hard or concrete terrain they'll just crack. Also, if anyone does have this is it much larger than the Costco version with thin wheels when folded? Hoping to still be able to fit it in smaller cars also, thanks!

also, can the pins for the wheels be replaced with metal cotter pins or something? lot of complaints on that part

Id say they're very durable, we've taken this thing on trails, pulled them along sidewalks (just had it out for halloween around the neighborhood). Cant comment on the costco brand but my sister in law tried taking her cart on the beach that had thins wheels and they gave up in the sand with it.
The pins aren't cotter pins so I dont think you could swap it out, would be nice if that was the case.

What about replacing with a bolt or something or would that kill the functionality? Seems like that's where most of the complaints are other than pulling it over sand which is difficult unless it had balloon tires
