I tried this out for a couple of weeks and I did really like it. A few impressions:

-Performance is solid and smooth, it easily handled whatever I threw at it.
-The 7:5 aspect ratio was so good - one of my favorite uses was multitasking in portrait mode: could watch a video on the top and actually adjust the multitasking window so the video would be full screen with no black bars on the top/bottom, leaving 2/3 of the screen for whatever else I wanted.
-It's bigger than an iPad and a bit heavier than one too, but wasn't unwieldy.
-I think the keyboard is actually pretty good. The pen is nice if you can get it for $50.
-67W charging on a tablet is fantastic. Fast charging makes it harder for me to go back to slower charging devices (iPad).
-Speakers are great, battery life is pretty good, screen is good...but...

I did wind up returning it, even though I liked it. My screen had a lot of motion blur, more than I would expect on an LCD panel. Most reviewers praised the screen, but Ars thought it was terrible, and I did see the issues they were talking about. But I might have had a lemon, too - most reviewers don't mention any blurriness (and fwiw the OnePlus return experience was decent, never gave me any trouble). I did run into a few bugs in the software, nothing serious but annoying. App compatibility is typical for Android tablets: some apps will only display in portrait. Also, while it does have a 144Hz screen, you'll only see that quick of a response rate in the homescreen and in a few key apps (at least it includes Chrome) - OnePlus does this with their phones as well, they limit what apps get the full refresh rate, arguably to help battery life. Lastly, while there is a promise of getting the slick multitasking that the OnePlus Open has, right now multitasking is limited to two apps on screen with a floating window for a third, and not all apps will run in this mode (YouTube Music frustratingly refused any of them). Whether or not these will be dealbreakers depends on your needs.

But, for $400 (or even less) I don't think you'll find an Android tablet that can beat this. Performance wise it runs circles around Lenovo's offerings (P11 Pro, P12) and OP actually does update its software, it's faster than the Pixel Tablet and comes with a keyboard case (imo far more useful than a semi-smart dock). It is not yet the most polished Android tablet experience but as a companion device it should be a good middle ground between the more expensive Samsung tablets and the cheaper offerings from Amazon and Lenovo.

Fwiw, I've now got a Galaxy Tab S9+, and it's definitely a better machine and tablet experience (especially in multitasking), but it also cost me twice as much. It's really good, but I struggle to say it's worth twice the price of this.

-No, not any more weird than on other Android tablets. Some apps won't display in landscape, but multitasking can help to make this less of an issue. The 7:5 aspect ratio is closer to the iPad's, makes portrait use much better than the typical 16:10 of other Android tablets.

-Processor is close to the S8 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 1). The Dimensity 9000 isn't quite there, but it benchmarks close.

-OxygenOS is OnePlus's skin of Android (like with Samsung you get One UI). Unlike Samsung, it doesn't have its own store or come with a bunch of duplicate apps installed. Comes with Google Play.

Ok. The Lenovo tablet itself felt like it was made with decent materials, however everything felt sluggish, although I stripped it to the bare OS and even tried loading another launcher. The battery life wasn't the best in the world, although it was supposed to be "the best"; had better battery life out of an iPad and Galaxy Tab S. The size of the tablet didn't feel as comfortable as other large format tablets (iPad Pro 12.9", Galaxy Tab SX+, etc). The keyboard felt absolutely terrible and uncomfortable, then I could never get the freaking pen to work (trust me, I tried everything).

On the other hand, I got my OnePlus tab and the battery is fantastic, the keyboard feels just as good as a Galaxy Tab S (not quite as good an iPad Pro keyboard, but still really good), the OS is slim, super responsive, and the tablet lasts me for several heavy use days. If I have to complain about anything, it's the placement of the camera on the back, but heck, I've even gotten used to it. I haven't been able to get my hands on the pen yet, but I've heard good things about it.

Hope that helps!

I am looking at the pixel but this is interesting. I love the stock os my pixel phone.
No pen support on pixel
Blurry 60 hz screen (everything smoother on OnePlus pad)
slower charging
worse battery life
And this has a nicer aspect ratio

Not even close. I own both and should have returned pixel. Daughter uses it occasionally.

I've been thinking about upgrading my 2nd gen 12.9" iPad Pro. I use it with the 1st Gen pencil for lecture note taking.

Would this be an upgrade?

No OLED means it's a joke tablet. Android tablets must have OLED to even compete with iPad. Otherwise just get an iPad. Crappy Chinese brands with pooh bear listening in on you 24/7 need a price incentive. This is too expensive for selling out your morals. You should demand a much greater discount.

I was very close to pulling the trigger but no SD card slot is a deal breaker for me. What's up with this recent trend of Android phones and tablets not including a microSD slot? It used to be a standard feature years ago. My guess is it's an upsell tactic to get people to spend more money on higher storage models.

Let's be honest to ourselves, even though I owned different brands of tablets for almost 2 decades, for now the only 2 good tablets are iPad Pro & Galaxy Tab S9 series, period.

(Maybe the next Pixel tablet - 2024 or 2025)

Have a Happy Holiday to y'all!

Apple doesn't have any of their products made in China? "Good to know."

I really want this to have a OLED screen or they can make an OLED variant. This alone would make me dump the iPad ( ใƒŽ ^o^)ใƒŽ for one
