1. Trade in device and use that credit to pay off phone in 36months while keeping phone plan. For UU on verizon this comes up to (100avg x 36) - 300 Walmart GC
2. No trade in, but pay off phone immediately within 3 days of receiving to avoid activation fees. For the iphone 15 pro, this comes up to be 999- 300 Walmart GC regardless what plan you choose.
Follow steps included this wiki to port out your locked device to other carrier.
I have no horse in this race but here is the email you get from Walmart. Watch your SPAM FOLDERS.

Same for 2021 and 2022.
AT&T details
Order/cancel? Activation starts on ship date (or store activation date). AT&T does not prorate after 3 days, so if you don't receive the device by the 3rd day you have to pay for the entire month of service.
To get the activation fees waived (if you're not cancelling within 3 days) be sure to sign up for AARP. It can be free or almost free
https://slickdeals.net/f/17039080-aarp-1-year-for-free-or-4-capital-one-offer-or-chase-card-offer-and-maybe-make-money-see-details-and-free-power-cord-charger-or-trunk-organizer
- Contact AT&T over chat and ask them to waive your activation fee since it's an AARP benefit. This will save $35/line.
- Set up autopay from att.com or MyAtt app to save $10/line/month (debit; or credit -$5/month).
- Do you have AT&T fiber home internet? Contact AT&T over chat to "bundle" home internet plus wireless for a $20/month discount. You can also sign up for home internet after getting wireless to receive the same $20/month discount. There are loads of sign-up offers include $350 gift card back for new customers https://slickdeals.net/f/17073514-new-at-t-fiber-customers-purchase-at-t-fiber-internet-plan-300mbps-get-up-to-350-in-reward-cards-or-logitech-g-cloud-gaming-handheld-device-6-200-reward-card
- Pay off installment plan from MyAtt app or at att.com. You can do this as soon as activated/device ships.
- Turn on iPhone and let it activate with the pushed AT&T eSim (should be automatic once connected to wifi). Make a phone call.
- Transfer the AT&T eSim to another unlocked iPhone. "Use eSIM Quick Transfer on iPhone" Procedure https://support.apple.c
om/en-us/HT212780
- Make a call on the unlocked iPhone. Check in myAtt or att.com and check every few minutes until the unlocked iPhone shows up in your account as your device.
- Request unlock https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/ as a non-ATT customer, with non-ATT phone# and email for the new iPhone
- Check email and click to acknowledge unlock request. May take a few minutes to receive this.
- Wait for unlock approval email. It could take only a few minutes or up to a day
- new iPhone will be unlocked once you try a different provider eSIM. You can either use a new eSIM or transfer one from your other iPhone.
- If you want to, cancel AT&T service over chat or phone so that you don't go beyond 3 days post activation. If you instead want to keep the service, do everything I mentioned above to bring your monthly cost down.
Edit: AT&T chat is closed on the weekend I called reseller support and they refused to cancel the line and said I had to wait 30 days. I had to port out to another carrier.- Call *PORT on the new iPhone to get a porting pin. You also need your wireless account number (displayed when you login to att.com).
- I had a great experience porting to usmobile.com for their 50 day free trial. Just sign up and fill out the details including port (AT&T Postpaid, account number, port pin). Transfer completed in minutes!
Verizon details
- check out the recent iPhone 13 community wiki on unlock (60 days on iPhone 14/15!), pay off, 3 day rule etc. for Verizon
https://slickdeals.net/f/17028796-verizon-or-at-t-128gb-apple-iphone-13-new-or-added-line-8-30-mo-for-36-months-299-total-more-free-s-h
- We haven't found a way to unlock the iPhone 14/15 like we did the 13 because it has an eSIM assigned that gets activated on boot, and no physical SIM card. Also the phones are showing Verizon locked and not flex reseller policy. It will automatically unlock 60 days post activation however.

Yes you can call and ask to cancel and then when activation fee is billed on statement, call and ask for refund. I just believe port out to be a little easier.
Called Verizon this morning and spent 51 minutes figuring out what's the story because I want to purchase another phone for myself. 13 was for my daughter and I'm on a 7S. Verizon confirmed I paid off my phone in full and I never activated my phone with the Verizon sim so I should have a zero balance. Verizon told me my account has a bill for 1 month but because I canceled the service, they bill you for the 1st month then they credit you when you cancel and the credit squares up at the end of the billing cycle to reflect a zero balance.
The system won't allow me to purchase a phone because it shows that I cancelled the service with Verizon with a balance due but at the end of the billing cycle, the credit will offset my bill to zero then the system will allow me to purchase another phone with Verizon because it will then reflect an account this is not owed any money. I hope this helps anyone that is wondering why they are being rejected by Verizon with a good credit score.
I offered to pay anything due to keep my account open but was told I owe nothing. Rep told me the only way to re-open my Verizon account is to reactivate my phone number that was given to me by buying a new phone or activating any phone. No thanks, I don't want to pay a $35 activation fee and $75 monthly fee.
Might have screwed myself for purchasing another phone with the upcoming BF iPhone deals but at least my daughter got her iPhone 13 for under $327 out the door.
Any ideas on how I can jump on the upcoming BF deals would be appreciated since Verizon has closed my account until mid December.
I need to take a break from Verizon. My 13 deal is still not settled yet. But I may do ATT on this one. Just have to decide if I want the s23 or an IPhone
You order VZ iphone 14 pro at Walmart for : $845 + tax
Then wait till you reive the the Gift card.
Cancel VZ within 3 days and get a bill around $12 prorated rate.
In the end your iPhone 14 pro cost : $845 + Tax -$400( WMGC) + $12 = $457 + tax
This way you don't have 36 month plan.
For trade-in: only if you want to stick to 36-month plan which works best for whoever have exiting plan with VZ or ATT and doesn't plan to switch carrier soon
You order VZ iphone 15 pro max at Walmart for : $1149+ tax
Then you go to store and trade in any iPhone ( Iphne 12 pro and above ) to get $1000 credit.
In the end your iPhone 15 pro max cost : $1149 + Tax -$400( WMGC) - $1000 ( credit trade in) = -$151 + Tax + ( value of Iphone 12 pro and above which is around maybe $200- $300 ?)
This way you will have to stick with VZ or ATT for 36 month.
I'm currently on a 3GB shared ATT plan (with one other) and was considering upgrading to an unlimited plan (bringing in 3 other people for a total of 5 lines). I've got two phones: A beat up Iphone 11 and XS to replace and am eyeing the 15 pro and 15. This deal just makes sense in my case, right?
Upgrade plan to get:
- 15 pro for $950 with $300 gift card + Trade in $350 (hopefully with phone condition), making it a $300+tax 15 pro at the end.
- 15 for $780 with $300 gift card + Trade in $350, making it $130+tax for the 15 at the end.
Seems good or am I missing something?
