hmm I think that's the same price I paid for this same TV last year. It's working great so far.

Same price as last year. I'm super happy with it. It's surpassed my expectations considering it was only $228 for 65" TV.

60Hz refresh rate. Deal breaker.
I thought that myself, but wife talked me into trying it anyway. She watches a lot of sports & I watch lots of fast action movies. Maverick (TopGun2) didn't bother me one bit! Very pleased for the money!

Every 4 series tcl I bought (3) have developed screen issues. Good luck, get a warranty.

the most common problem is the led backlight going bad.

the screen is fine.

I have replaced the led backlight twice in my old TCL 43s405.

parts are easy to find on aliexpress. $10 for a new set of backlights.

I want to buy this but I don't want W+... this leads me to questions:
- If I have to pay $13 for a single month of W+ is this still a decent deal? I intend this as a gift so I'm willing to overpay a little for convenience.
- Will there be enough of these available that non-W+ customers will have little problem getting them?
I remember recently seeing one of these W+ deals where after the "early access" there were still plenty for any ol' A-hole to buy one at the good price... how do I know if that is likely to happen for this TV? Anyone have insight into whether that is the "usual" case?

Buyer beware. I purchased this TV for the same price in 2020. The picture quality is great for the price. The software is awful. The operating system has never been updated. Sound goes out periodically. The TV channels constantly lose the signal, the remote control frequently goes out of sync because of memory/cache problems. I am constantly doing a soft reset by unplugging. Constantly scanning for channels.

I feel ridiculous saying this but I hope I can find a deal like this for a smaller tv. Don't want a 65in tv in the kids room
Hey there! Here's a few deals I recommend, not sure how much smaller of a TV you'd like but hope these help. Both start 11/22.

43" Onn Class FHD (1080P) LED Roku Smart TV $98 - https://slickdeals.net/f/17064697

55" TCL 55S41R 4K UHD HDR Smart Roku TV $188 - https://slickdeals.net/f/17062990

Is there a 55inch QLED version of this TV? Looking for one in the bedroom and 65 would be too big for that room.

I personally went 5 series TCL last year in 55 on a best buy deal after getting the 4 series cheaper but got rid before opening. The 5 series are decent, mine are Google tvs and I hate that, laggy more difficult to use than Roku. Personally unless you're looking for the cheapest I'd go 5 or better. I do like my Hisense ULed better

remote function on Roku app on phone/tablet works way better than the original remote.
It's pretty glitchy for me. Depends on what you are doing too. I hate scrolling through something like Netflix or Hulu with the app arrows. On the other hand, being able to type with your phone keyboard is a godsend. Also, iPhones won't control TV volume with the volume buttons on the phone, while android will. YMMV

I was able to get last year's model (thread for reference) after they switched from W+ to the general public. Thread for reference:

Volume button works fine on my iPhone for the tcl tv. I just hate some of the updates that Roku did.

I got the $230 deal at Target two years ago TCL 65" Google 4k. People still compliment it when they come over so I'm sure this one is awesome as well for that price.
I got that too… I hate the Android interface so I put an old Roku box on it. Added a $12 remote that controls Roku, sound bar and TV power. Works way better that way.
