Would you rather have a keurig k select or this gourmia? This gourmia seems more versatile, keurig more well known, quality. I just cleaned my bella pro air fryer and it's impossible to get the layer of hardened grease from uper portion of inner walls. rather than deal with that hassle, $50 seems like a not terrible price as a replacement. although these door window air fryers are hard to clean

At first I read this as a machine that makes coffee and air fries

Still in stock! Even if the thing breaks in 2 years, the price alone ought to make it worth it. It's the first machine I'll have ever owned, so it will be a good starter before I become a coffee snob and only buy $600 machines in a few years.

K Cups are landfill waste, so I avoid Keurig and their knockoffs. I will only own a machine that uses traditional coffee grounds.

In a way, I wish I needed one. With pre-ground bricks of coffee, it will probably work just fine. When I first got started, there weren't any $50 cheap semi-auto with an auto milk frothing attachment, let alone programmable buttons. This is an amazing price-point. A lot of people are going to get the espresso bug if it works half decently.

Toxic plastic chemicals? Elaborate please

it was a joke to this person earlier

BINGO...it's only $50 but probably is using subpar parts ( maybe toxic), with no tech or warranty support.
I aint going to pay $50 for a headache
Hard pass

This is to make expresso shots. You can then add milk to make a latte. But no, no regular coffee.
It also make Americano (Espresso + hot water) which should be close to regular coffee.

Can someone confirm if the internals of the coffee machine where hot liquids pass through is metal or plastic? Dont want chemicals releasing into the drink.

Also if not this coffee machine, what is the cheapest one with metal internals for hot liquids?

How would one even know that without taking the machine apart?

Thinking of getting the espresso machine to "practice" / get used to learning how to pull an espresso before I spend $600 on a real one. I have Nepresso vertuo and original line and they are good for the most part but I want to learn to brew a real espresso
I don't really understand what you mean by "practice" in this context. The main act of pulling espresso is really simple: you fill the portafilter with espresso grounds, hit the button/switch/lever, and coffee comes out.

What differs between machines is related to the actual specific function of the machine. In that sense you can't really practice for a more expensive machine because everything surrounding that main act of filling the portafilter and turning on the machine will be completely different.

So if you already know you want a $600 machine then just get that without spending even more on this "practice" machine. But if you're still trying to decide if you actually need that $600 machine then yeah, it would be good to try out a cheaper machine first.

Ordered the expresso machine + 2 year extended warranty through a cash back website with 10% cb. And then used Chase Freedom through PayPal to pay for it, with another 5% cb from Chase.
Final cost: 50 - 5 cb - 3 cb = 42 + 6 dollar extended warranty =48 + tax.

Not bad at all.
