Meh. Would have been better if there were a few larger containers in the set.

I love glass storage containers but these ones suck, all the lids are cracking after less than 2 years of light use. Never put in dishwasher, just hand-washed and dried.

I'm not a big fan of glass storage containers. However I do like AH bakeware for baking. It works well and lasts, as long as you don't drop it. Therefore, only the baking dishes are appealing to me as a gift. Maybe use the $20 and see how many baking dishes you can buy.

I've had a couple brands (including Pyrex) with lids like this that also cracked.

A couple brands of hard plastic lids with snap closures (like Pyrex Snapware) haven't broke after many years so I only trust lids like that.

Yep! I use those daily for lunches for a few years, haven't had one go bad yet. Not sure of brand but one of the sets I've seen on here as a deal, they're from Sam's club.

Does anyone know if these lids fit the previous non-embossed containers?

Unless they changed the quality of the lids, I would pass. Lids fail very quickly.

As was suggested earlier, I've had these before the lids really suck and would stay away from these

I think it would be a great gift. In fact, I'm buying a few for that purpose. The biggest complaint with these types of storage containers is the floppy lid. They warp and crack over time. If that happens, the containers can still be used as ramekins, dessert bowls and condiment/dip containers.

Anyone have any recs for glass or alternative containers that avoid using endocrine disrupting materials?

You aren't supposed to microwave the lids...
