Worked on both my CFU and Chase sapphire preferred. Honestly wont end up using either since it says travel must be completed by 1/31 and I've already planned my trips before then. Wish they offered these earlier

It must be a flight AND hotel, not just one.

They ditched the cheap flights from frontier and spirt from their travel portal. Used to book lots of 2 day trips using the cheap flights.

2 days in Orlando was under 1000 bucks with park tickets for 2.

reserved is so prepandemic card
Capital one venture is so much better

Not really though- Chase transfer partners, which is where the real value is, is significantly better than Cap One... Hyatt at Chase is really the ONLY hotel transfer partner anybody has that's worth using for hotels, and they've got a wider selection of airlines too.

Also perhaps you meant the Venture X not the Venture- since the regular Venture also doesn't have Priority Pass unlimited uses.

But even on the Venture X they made the PP benefit worse end of last year- it no longer includes the $28/$56 restaurant credits at airport restaurants.... and the $300 travel credit is now significantly more restrictive (requires booking through their portal- while the CSR $300 travel credit works with nearly everything).

Don't get me wrong, the Venture X is a nice card to ALSO have since, until they cripple it further, the annual fee is pretty easy to break even on (though not quite as easy as before they restricted the $300 credit)... but if you can only have ONE the CSR is going to be the better card for people who travel significantly.

The expensive travel card to dump since the pandemic is the Amex Plat- which is now a garbage coupon book for $695, has the same crippled PP as Venture X, and doesn't even allow guests at Centurion lounges anymore.

Flight and hotel? Not really worth it for me. Don't think you get hotel status benefits if you book through travel portal

I switched over to Venture X when the sign up was like 110k. CSR is great, but for those of us that signed up for CSP when that bonus was 90k or 100k we can't switch to CSR and get bonus yet since that was within 48 months. Chase really cutting down too. Not sure if CSR PP benefit includes dining still. If it does I imagine it's only a matter of time until it's removed given other premium cards that no longer have it (Venture X, Amex Platinum, etc.).

Centurion lounge has gone down the toilet. I oftentimes elect for the PP lounge instead of Centurioun because the latter is always overcrowded now and extremely overrated. Every time I'm in Vegas there is a line a mile deep to get into Centurioun and I can walk right into PP.

Venture X is good. I'm enjoying it. Haven't gotten to check out a C1 lounge yet, but I've heard great things. Probably a matter of time until that takes a nosedive too.

FWIW the 48 month clock only cares about when you got the bonus--- so you CAN switch CSP to CSR after 12 months, keep the CSR for 36 months for the higher benefits, then downgrade at month 48 and apply for a new CSR and get a new signup bonus.

They do still include restaurants- it's why I listed it as a significant benefit over the Venture... I dunno that it's going away either- it's been over 4 years since Amex dropped that benefit and Chase still offers it.

Citi Prestige PP also still gives you restaurant credits too- though it's not open to new applicants

Curious if you've experienced this since the removal of free guests? I'd have thought that would shorten the lines considerably.... since I rarely travel alone the guest removal was the killer for me but I agree the lines some places were getting bad.

I agree it's a good nice to have card, I just don't see that it offers anything (other than access to the few C1 lounges) one doesn't already have with CSR, and CSR has other added benefits the VX doesn't.

No reason not to have both if you can, but if I could only have ONE it'd be CSR.
