What exactly does the 6100 do much, much better than the 4100? My understanding is that the different "modes" are just more speed settings (which the 4100 already has two of).

What about it is actually better? It seems like the more expensive ones just have more "features" which for the most part seem useless. I don't need 3 different modes for whitening, gum health, etc. They otherwise seem identical, with the same brush heads.

I had a more expensive model and replaced with this one. I don't miss the different speeds. The fixed speed of this model cleans my teeth just fine. I never noticed that much of a difference with the more expensive model.

The new ones all come with only USB cable. I still have the wall plug from past purchases and those are still compatible with the new models. Otherwise you may need to reuse your phone chargers... I have a lot of those lying around.

Yes, the 6100 is much much better, but costs a lot more. Its an investment in your teeth and gums. If you are sams club member, I think there is an package of 2 for $120.

The motor is the same for 4100 and 6100. If you are not going to use the medium and low mode then get the 4100 for it's simplicity.

The best buy 4100 is a great buy. Just get it at this price if you don't already have a sonicare you will be impressed and feel like you power washed your teeth.

Has anyone found a suitable aftermarket head that has the same or better quality's the original heads have at a much better price point?

All the ones on here I have tried seem to be noticeably less quality, they don't clean as well, nor do they last as long as the originals.

Has anyone found a replacement head that is both inexpensive and has ~ parity with the "quality" of the originals?
