Any difference between this card and the MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 12GB 15 Gbps GDRR6 192-Bit HDMI/DP PCIe 4 Torx Twin Fan Ampere OC Graphics Card, which is $250 (after $20 rebate) from Amazon?

Looks to be the same. I also would like to get it from Amazon for better returns options.

The 6700xt is gonna be hugely better for gaming. As far as video editing is concerned that kind of depends on the software your using.

Premier uses the GPU way differently than davinci resolve does, resolve utilizes way more of the GPU than premier will.

But also depends on what tools your using. If your using basic video editing tools than the 6700xt will be as good or better than the 3060. But here's the real difference.

The 3060 has ai and RT cores and cuda cores. The 6700xt doesn't have any of that ai deep learning stuff. So if you intend to use any ai tools that are now coming in various video editors, the 6700xt will get its butt kicked badly and performance will not be able to hold a candle to the 3060
Thanks. I also had issues with AMD drivers. Should I get 3060ti for $25 more ?

How can I tell if this will work with my old desktop? It originally had a GTX 640(?) series, and had upgraded to a 1060... I'm fairly certain the current PSU is somewhere between 850 and 1000W

If you have a 10 year old CPU, it's time for a platform upgrade before bothering to upgrade your GPU.

I want to upgrade my VPIN and was looking at this. Currently running a NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5. 3 screens with playfield at 4k locked on 60 fps (40" Vzio). I have everything running pretty smoothly with my current settings but was hoping to get some improvement. Do you think this card would do the trick? Thanks!
It would definitely be a huge improvement. I had a 1060 before I got my RTX 3050 and it was a pretty big upgrade and the 3060 is quite a bit better

What GPU were you having issues with amd? Are you talking about an old one like an rx580 or something? Or recent 6000 series because they are vastly different

I had issues with new 6700XT. 4K Videos were stuttering so bad that I had to disable hardware acceleration on VLC player. My 1050ti worked flawlessly. I also did not notice much difference between 1050ti and 6700XT for what I do in Premiere Pro. I am going back to 1050Ti for now. Will wait for 3060Ti deal.

Thanks! As it happens, just got it delivered 5 minutes ago. Now to take the time to upgrade without destroying everything the equilibrium of VPX settings.

For gaming, 3060Ti is significantly faster and better, something like 10-20% depending on the game. 3060 has fewer cores and narrower memory bus, but uses the same or similar memory chips.

The biggest reason 3060 got 12GB instead of 6GB of memory is because 1GB chips were harder to source but the gpu only had 192-bit bus for cost reduction. That ironically made the 3060 better for AI because you could actually fit larger models in memory.
