They have a bass-heavy sound profile using the default EQ, 'JLab Signature'. Mixes have extra rumble, punch, and boom, but it's well-balanced overall, so instruments and lead vocals are present and clear.
....
Having used Jlab for a few years, definitely the sound profile for the price point. Makes your ears perk up and beats of music shine through with some excitement. Definitely one of my favorite non-wired earphones.
Definitely no wonder Jlab took over the sub-$100 market share from Sony in the US market.
That said, these are throw-aways.
Meaning they'll break over the years - cheap button actuators, etc. But since no earbud battery was designed to be user-replaceable, that's fine. No need for the unit to last longer than a few years.
....
These aren't the highest quality earbuds, so at night in bed, if you play music or podcasts at the lowest volume level, you will hear slight static noise in quiet passages. Not noticeable at normal daily use.
....
Android has a hidden developer menu setting in the OS.
Settings - go thru whatever steps needed to unlock Developer Options in your version - Bluetooth section - ENABLE "Disable Absolute Volume".
This will allow you to properly adjust volume on the Phone separately from the earbuds to get the very quietest and loudest volumes.
If you do not do this, you'll Bitch about why the earbud's lowest volumes are too loud, or why they can't get loud enough outdoors.
Remember, both volume settings must be adjusted once this setting is enabled - phone and earbuds.

My tween daughter wants a pair of BT, should probably find them and give them to her.
Question is, do I buy another paid for backup?
Has anyone actually been using these and are they decent?
Very decent, for the price I'd say they're very good. They stack up with other non anc earbuds that cost upwards of 40 dollars
In terms of sound and bass, I think they're great! I'm not an expert or anything but if you just like listening to music while you do stuff, you can't go wrong!
One thing some people may not like is they are a little bulky and can get knocked out of your ear, but that has been a lot less of a problem than I originally thought.
There are a few settings to change the bass and the fancy stuff about them- but I've always stuck with just one setting.
If these are the same ones with the physical buttons instead of touch, the buttons can be hard to double click. One click seems fine but the rebound can be slow and cause a bad push on the second go (this just causes the volume to increase rather than pause the song). One tap for volume increase, two for pause.
So overall, durable little buds. I've dropped them and the case multiple times over the near decade. Still work! The case provides a nice click too- satisfying for those who like to fidget!

The only issue I ever had with these was the decibel that they could reach COULD be a little louder. I use Spotify and I went into the equalizer on the app to fix it and they never gave out. Overall I'd give them 4 out of 5 stars.
good even for some backups. never have earbuds last as long.
picking up another as a gift. $9 is a bargin. kinda surprised how these things are like new still tbh. I might just buy another color for myself.
