This has been rock solid for me for over a year now. Way better than orbi.

I paid the same price last black Friday for the 5300 (same model I believe).

Best router I ever owned. I am getting very good speed all around the house. No drop connections ever.

Only complaint is the app requires 2 bucks monthly for the additional features.

Going to buy this as a gift. Purchased from Costco basically when it came out to replace an ubiquiti amplifi hd system.

Don't think this has had to be restarted a single time, nothings ever randomly disconnected—about 25 items connected at all times. Practically full speed throughout the entire home.

Suggestion for those installing mesh systems without extra Ethernet ports throughout the house, go to fast . Com or another speed test site, after installing the base. Go as far as you can away in opposite directions while testing the speed to find the best places to put the mesh points. For me, I placed them in areas that had about 95% of the speed as being next to the main router. It reached significantly farther than I expected.

The 6ghz wireless back haul seems to be completely game changing.

Can any one pitch-in with info on how to add the satellites to this 3 pack. I am dealing with concrete walls and all satellites may need a wired lan connection and confines each satellite's coverage to the local room. Can I combines this AXE5300 with the other costco item Deco X25 / Deco X50 (4 pack with one outdoor unit)

IMO, unless you're having issues, best to wait for Wifi 7 routers to come down in price. The speed improvements are much larger than going from wifi 5 to 6e for example. If you're running a wireless backhaul I see no reason to go from wifi5 to wifi6e.
It will take several years before WiFi 7 routers come down to this price range. They will be priced quite high when they enter the market, just like the WiFi 6 was when it came out first.

My reasons to go from my Asus Ai-Mesh (WiFi 5) to this TPLink Deco Mesh (WiFi 6):
1) Internet speed on WiFi went from about 120-150 Mbps to 200-250 Mbps on older devices and 350-400 Mbps on newer devices. I have a 500/500 FIOS connection.
2) LAN speed on WiFi doubled from 200-300 Mbps to 400-700 Mbps across all devices. I have a 1Gbps LAN, with wired MOCA-Ethernet backhaul to all Deco units.
3) The Asus Ai-Mesh was beginning to show its age and limits - occasional connection drops when moving from one part of the house to another, videos buffering when multiple users streaming simultaneously etc. These went away with the Deco Mesh.
4) Cosmetically, the Deco units are much more home decor friendly. Wife hated the big black Asus routers with the three antennae. The Deco units are unobtrusive and can be easily be placed in any room.

Things I don't like about the Deco mesh:
1. Must use the app for WiFi management. Web GUI is useless. I got around most of this by still using an Asus router for the internet connection and the Deco for only WiFi in AP mode.
2. The unit glitched on me once, just wouldn't connect to the internet no matter what. The router had internet, the problem was only between the Deco and the router. I had to reset all the Deco units and re-configure everything afresh to fix the issue. I am hoping it was a one time issue and won't re-occur. I have since updated the units to the latest firmware available.

I bought the 3-pack refurbished for $180 from the TP-Link Official store on eBay. Came with 2-year warranty. For the price, they are a great value and will do till I am ready to upgrade to WiFi 7. The Asus WiFi held up great for over 7 years, I am hoping the TP-Link will perform similarly.

How does this compare with Eero 6 Pro which is also a tri-band? Any major differences that one might see in the real world?

Yes you can. This is how I have a pair of these set up to handle my backhaul. Node to MoCA, MoCA to house coaxl, to MoCA adapter by second node, into second node. CAT6 wire from nodes to MoCA adapters. Just remember to disconnect the coaxl feed from the street if you plan to use the houses cable.
Or use a MoCA filter

Will this set be a good option to replace Deco M5 mesh system? I have 5 M5 routers spread across my home and I have 1 Gigabit internet from AT&T.

Can someone give me a brief breakdown on how these connect, does the base/master unit connect to modem via eth and the rest of the units mesh wirelessly or does every single unit needs to be daisy chained via physical cable?
Thanks

In Access point mode, It will use the same SSID and password for 2.5/5. 6GHz can have its own unique.

BUT, you can use the guest network for IOT devices and have them separate from your main wifi. I do this with my WiFi cameras and video doorbell.
This didn't work for my Alexa IR repeater issue that required only 2.4 because it has to match the SSID of the firetv it's controlling.

This is a video I saw in another thread when I had same question. Basically, you can wire via Ethernet, but can also backhaul wireless.

Perfect, sounds like wireless backhaul is what ill do, at the expense of throughput loss, which i dont mind

Can this be connected to existing router/modem combo ? I have an ARRIS SURFboard DOCSIS 3 Modem with AC1750 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router where the connection drops once in a while and i am hoping i can connect TP-Link Deco to it, to solve the issues.
