The swap request did not go through, and I am glad it didn't because the latter two agents I talked to both said it would affect the device credit. They did suggest one solution which worked for me: since the iphone 15 has two esims, I transferred my old number to sim2 so I can use it on the new phone. The new number stays on sim1 for the device credit. There may be some additional small charge to keep the line active (The agent said there should not be, I'll wait and see), but at this point I am ok with it.
Nice. The dual SIM option should work for many of us including myself. Will try.

Was your old number a physical Sim or esim? Or perhaps that would make no difference

I would like to know too whether their old number was a psim or esim. My issue is I ordered a new Iphone 15 and ported over a GV # to it. My kid has an Iphone 12 (esim) currently on XM that's paid off. I was hoping to sim swap these two phones but it doesn't sound like that is going to happen. Wondering if we can utilize the dual sim of the Iphone 15 somehow without losing out on device credits for the new Iphone 15? Not sure if this would or could even work with the Iphone 12 being psim, etc.

It's been 30 hours since I called X mobile to Port Google Voice number and still don't have service on new iPhone 13. Wondering if I messed up the port by deleting the number from my Google Voice account before waiting until Port completed?

Our family is on a Bythegig plan and was able to use the BF $830 coupon with a GV port and successfully did number swaps between 15pro (new eSIM) and 13pro (old SIM) with no issues. Device credit is still on the bill. Had to move the new port to a SIM, old SIM to eSIM. This was in store but they called it in to do all the swaps

Interesting. When did you do this sim swap? I noticed some folks seem to have success a few weeks ago but most since then have not.

I've done it twice in the last 3 weeks. It took 3 to 4 days each time. Google will also message you when porting is complete. But deleting the number may have done some damage. I didn't touch the account until the porting was complete.

It should work. Call customer serivce to move the old number to the other eSIM. As long you don't change the original GV# from that phone, I believe the credits will continue regardless you have other numbers of on it. Your old number has paid off anyway.

I am not sure why you deleted the number from GV. In my case, it take around 72 hours to complete the activation. As long as have the number unlocked on GV side, it should go through I think. But then I don't know why you had to delete it and if it will make any changes.

I deleted it because I wanted to create a second number that I can port and I think you can only have one Google Voice number at a time unless I was mistaken.

That should be the way.. but many people here did not have a success like you on this. I tried calling CS three times and the answer was same all the time about the device credits. The Xfinity Store I went to said they don't do SIM swap and I have to call the CS. So, didn't get help from store either. I didn't even check which would be the Xfinity store nearby. Felt like no worth taking the risk.

Ok.. not sure what will happen in this situation. I took another GV# after the porting completed. It was automatically removed from the GV account after porting.

This deal finally gave me the push to do the mini reward tasks that show up regularly on SD. Missed out on the deal because I'm in the Silver rewards category.

So if I try this and get it to work then what happens with our Iphone 12? I guess it just becomes a dead phone then as without a sim associated with it there would be no # tied to it. I'm still not 100% sure this would work or if it would be worth the risk of losing the device credits.
