Shame a few years ago they started making the dimensions on these much smaller. So if you have older ones, they won't be the same size just a heads up.

Try reinforcing the bottom of the drawers. You might be able to save your old one, and if not it's still good to do on the new one.

I just called without realizing I bought a different color and they said it had to be the same color
Literally just assembled mine and saw this post 2 hrs later, wondering if the return and re-buy process is worth the $45 difference

Do you own any Koppang stuff? Is the quality good? I may get the drawer chest. The Hemnes drawer chest is too wide for my space...
I don't. I just looked at the website and filtered by "price offer". I ended up buying the Henmes but didn't really look at the Koppang in store

Try to file for a price adjustment with a phone rep.

My online shopping history on the website already reflects a $300 "return" made today (the expected value of the price adjustment) so you might also want to check there for a result.
I see a return in my purchase history that was logged about the same time as my call yesterday but it says $0.00 now. Not sure what that means or if it's still being processed. Either way, I haven't received any communication yet.

"In-store eligible home furnishings purchase must be made on the same day as Restaurant meal purchase and at same store. Coupon valid for one use only toward a single transaction. Cannot be combined with other IKEA offers or coupons."

So can we combine this with 50% off?
My wife and I only spend $21 on lunch, so we got a voucher for that much. But when I went to check out, there was a Spend $150 and get $25 discount that automatically applied using my Ikea Family card. The cashier wouldn't scan the $21 lunch voucher though, since she said I already got the $25 discount. So I assuming multiple offers don't stack, and she was applying the higher $25 discount. I also didn't see 5% off for Ikea Family, which maybe also doesn't stack.

But pretty sure the 50% off or similar dresser discounts are a sale price, and not considered an offer or coupon, so should work together with one offer, as we got the $25 discount on a 50% off dresser.

Speaking of which, for those who don't like the black-brown color, 6-drawer Malm in white (and black-brown) was unadvertised sale at 50% off (normally $300, sale $149) at the East Palo Alto store. We went in to get the white Koppang (normally $259, sale $155), but left with the Malm instead. The banner said til 11/27, so I assume this is basically their Black Friday sale, out early. 3 and 4-drawer Malm also on sale - they had pallets and pallets of them out in the self-serve aisles, but stock could go quick if you wait until actual Black Friday

There are close to no good colors anymore. Anyone remember when the Billy came in apple green and you could get the Expedit (replaced by its flimsier cousin, the Kallax) in high-gloss red)?

Well, Pepperidge Farm and I remember. A sample pint or can of oops paint is the only thing standing between you and happiness. You're welcome Smilie

Thanks for your reply. Someone in the other thread said Koppang is better than Malm but not as good as Hemnes. I may go to the store to check it out later.

Hemnes is my go-to because unlike a lot of veneer stuff, this is all wood. I have a bunch of the pieces. Nightstands, dressers. Haven't had problems with bruising, but I also don't look for bruises, and don't tend to abuse these.

Did you still get the $25 off since it was over $150 automatically? if you could upload a receipt that would be great! I have a family card but don't see any mention of the $25 over $150 anywhere except a Canadian deals forum from September, hoping it auto applies but just want to be sure it's a valid promo before asking the employee for it.

Also I'm assuming this is on top of the 5% IKEA Family members still have until early next year or does that get removed as well if you get the $25 for $150+ ?

The Idanas chests looked like a good successor for the Hemnes with soft close drawers. but it commanded such a huge price premium and seemed to have a smaller capacity that it didn't make a lot of sense to deviate from the tried and true Hemnes.
The Idanas dresser in brown was $299 (down from $599) last week, so it might go on sale again. But, we looked at it in the store and it didn't seem as sturdy as the Hemnes. The Idanas had a lot of particleboard. The top was filled with honeycomb paper. The durability just didn't seem to be there. We're going back this week to get the Hemnes.

I'm not who you responded to, but when I went to buy today. I didn't get the $25 off. I asked a cashier about it and she said there's only the 5% and cafeteria offer going on.

As somebody who has built the larger variant in the past, these are the final boss of IKEA builds.

Not sure why, but the site is not letting me upload any attachments or images right now. In any case, when the cashier was scanning, I swear I saw the Ikea Family 5% discount being applied on her register screen after each item - but when I got my final receipt, it only shows (Spend and Get $25 Coupon) with the $25 prorated across each of my items). My last item was the one that took it all over $150, and I assume that was the threshold when it switched from the 5% (my last item was the Malm dresser and took my total over $150, which is their typical threshold for past $25 off promotions).

The last mention of a $25 off $150 promotion I can find was in late September, so I'm not sure why I got it. But otherwise I would've used the $21 voucher from the Friday lunch promotion, which would have been similar deal
