Easy to recommend at this price!
I have two of the night stands as well which have been great.

I just bought the 6 drawer dresser and assembled it last weekend and am very happy with it so far. It's not 100% wood but looks great and was by far the easiest assembly I've done for a dresser. I've done 2 Hemnes dressers and they are nice but took me a good 4 hours to assemble (each). The Idanas just was really well designed and thought out for ease of assembly and it took maybe 2 hrs max. Time will tell how long it lasts but for $300 it's a really good deal.

Yeah. just came back from buying one and i had to fill out form on the screen(self check out) about a safety agreement. I figured Ikea lost a lawsuit and I guess it was exactly the case as you say. They have provided these warnings before because kids may climb the drawers. since they provided these warnings in the manual, their website and in the store but I guess there is not much then can do if the lawsuit puts the fault at the design of the product and get money from a company. Now you have to sign an agreement that the product can cause a safety issue and you can't sue them.
The guest room has some Brimnes drawers and night stands and while noticeably cheaper looking they are still nice. We just figured the wood Hemnes would last a long longer with daily use.

I just bought one of these and made the decision after seeing it in person. the description says it has some of that particle wood but the sidewall and the main cabinet itself was mostly wood and it's quite heavy. It's not 100% all wood (that would be the HEMNES which is more expensive) but it's definitely miles better than the MALM which is a lot of particle wood and cheaper, non-sturdy materials.
There is another drawer that's better than the MALM. it's called KOPPANG and it has better materials than the MALM. It was $159.99(regular $200) at the store but I think the sticker price was just for that particular location (Burbank, CA). The IDANAS is higher quality than the KOPPANG though and it's normally $599 (the darker wood color was not on sale).
