While that is a great price for the induction cook top, I think I paid $1099 including the free cookware, I do not recommend that style of cook top. I do not like the 'slide' control. I would much prefer knobs instead.

But I do love induction cook tops. As someone who loves gas and cannot have it, induction is as good plus the gov won't take it away when they outlaw gas. Kidding on that last comment, mostly.

I think it depends on the metal in your wok. Some stainless steel is not magnetic enough from what I understand. I have a carbon steel wok and it works

Do the sides heat up well? I understand the benefits of induction over gas. Just don't want to spend this much and regret

Not sure. I'm just going off what my cart and invoice showed.

What electric outlet supply do you need?

I imagine you would lose out on the prepaid card and Bundle discount. However, the cooktop on its own with cookware set, EPP/EDU discount, possible promo code from chat, and 5% off via chase with paypal is still pretty slick on its own.

This is actually the deal I was going to go with until I realized I could upgrade my dishwasher as well for a couple hundred more.

The heat action comes only from the bottom, not the sides like a flame. But the heat will rise, in the pan, of course.

Given the choice between gas or induction, I would choose gas because it isn't as expensive. But I haven't had the choice in the last 2 houses I lived in.

Now that is a great question. One that I looked into prior to install and was so glad I did. If you scroll down to the reviews, one of the first says

Not 30 amp
I bought this almost a month ago, it's sitting on my counter still as I cannot install it. The website calls this a 30 amp cooktop but it actually needs 40 amp circuit breaker. Only you have to buy it and read the manual to find that out. As I am only allowed to review the product I won't explain why it's still sitting on my counter not returned yet. Through no fault of my own. That's for sure. Proper spec sheet would help a buyers decision to purchase this cooktop.
I was surprised that my electric cook top (radiant) was only 30 amp and the electrician had to change it over to 40 amp to accommodate this cook top.

Samsung is garbage
New house and bought fridge, stove, micro, dishwasher, washer & dryer.
Have had multiple problems with every one of them.
Never again

Got these installed just before Thanksgiving and pretty satisfied so far. Dishwasher is quiet and works well. Induction cooktop heats quickly. Spilling or putting hot item on the button display does cause issues but you can still control from app, lock the controls, etc. so seems like a learning curve thing. Still prefer over knobs I think.

We will see how they hold up as Samsung appliance life has been questionable based on reviews. So far, seems like great performance for the price.

it's clear in the specs that it draws 30a, but to electrical code you need a 40a circuit to handle peak/sustained load safely -- the installation guide with full specs clearly outlines this.

Right you are. And reading installation guide is where I learned that it required a 40 amp. I was saying that my old radiant cooktop only required 30.

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make, we agree. I was simply answering someone's question about amperage required.

I have 2020 version of this dishwasher. Works fantastic except…suddenly wouldn't power on. Totally dead. Needed new motherboard which i got off eBay for $50. Now its not draining and i think its the pump. $100. Annoyed is putting it lightly for a $999 dishwasher !
