I think there is some confusion on this model. This is a net new TV from TCL in 2023. This is not a replacement for the 5 series. TCL changed the naming convention of their lineup in 2023. The Q lineup is Q6,Q7, and QM8 (only model with mini LED). The Q6 isn't a direct replacement for the series 6 from last year either as it lacks FALD and 120hz native panel. From what i can see, the Q5 and Q6 have the same specs on TCL's website, and are the same price on their site. The 55" Q5 just seems to be a Best Buy exclusive. The Q6 is currently $350, so if specs are the same seems like a great deal.

I think this is better. It is QLED. You can also play games at 1080p / 120 Hz. There is a 1440p / 120 Hz option too (I think the resolution for this mode is 3840 x 1080). This TV also supports VRR.

I have HDR disabled on my xbox. But, I did test it with this TV. The TV seems to get reasonably bright. I guess it could be capable of decent HDR compared to budget TVs of the past few years.

I wasnt shaming it, I was just letting folks know. I went in knowing it was a $150 TV, but comparing it my main TV it has stark differences. Some people don't realize it until they actually experience it. For what I'm using it for, its perfectly adequate. And $150 or not, the Android TV 'OS' is incredibly laggy right out of the box.

This is so confusing. I'm just trying to watch sports and I'm told QLED is the way to go. Is mini-LED better?

On paper qled is better than led if you build correctly. For a low budget qled tv, it can look worse than led when the manufacturer cut corners this and that. Remember you paid for what you got.

I have the 50 inch version, excellent picture. Even good from side views. Lags a little but I paid $150 and got 5 year warranty for $29 more.
Try it for 15 days
No complaints allowed these are great bangs for the buck.
