The Chase Prime Visa is literally one of the most PREDATORY, borderline ILLEGAL cards in the entire credit card industry.
Charge $1000 on this card, pay off $900. You should only be charged interest on $100, but the interest is for the full $1000. Yeah, GTFO. Show me any other charge card that does this.
People make mistakes with auto-pay. Sometimes despite one's best efforts or a family medical emergency, you miss paying off the full balance one month. I get this card has no annual fee and Chase has to make their profits somehow, but this is legit the most predatory way to do it. Zero-forgiveness in this card, so if you do sign up, make sure you never under any circumstance miss the full payment, even by missing one cent or by one day.
I'd rather carry Chase Freedom Flex + Discover IT cards (both with no annual fee), take advantage of staggered 5% cashback on all Amazon purchases for two quarters of a calendar year (including this holiday quarter), and just not deal with the BS.
A lot of you out there are chasing a $200 gift card carrot, but the 100% accrued balance interest penalty stick may hit you back a lot harder in the long run...
Declined with an over 800 credit score.
If you visit the page for this, you can do a pre-qualify check before actually applying.
Also, right after you get approved, you can grab a referral link to have friends/family use and you can get another $50 per each approved referral. (Up to $500)

I'm only getting $60 offer. I'm not prime but I have an offer to get 30 days free. In anyone's experience, if I sign up for the free 30 days would the offer increase to $200? Thanks ahead
yes it worked. With a week prime trial the offer changed to $200
I've applied and been told my application needs further review.
Never received an email, and when I called Chase Reconsideration, they had no evidence of my application.
Did I miss a step? I tried re-applying, but it says to wait 30 days for a decision from Chase. I received the same message last time this was available, but never heard anything (email or snail mail) from Chase.
If you have a Chase card already linked to Amazon it will lower the offer. Remove your current payment method, restart your browser, clear your cookies for Amazon and log back in and you should get the full $200
I have a high credit score and was given the "further review needed" message. I called Chase reconsideration and was told I would receive the decision letter within 2 weeks. I received the approval email within five minutes of the call
So if I use pre qualification will that still be a hard pull and lower my fico score??
I just want to double check.
Tx
For pre qualification, no hard pull. However, you still need to apply to get the card after pre qualification. That will be a hard pull.
Pre qualification is not applying for the card. It's just giving you a heads up if you can expect to be approved. It's not exact, people can not be pre qualified and still get it; and people can be pre qualified and get denied.
You can go through the pre qualification process as many times as you want. No hard pulls. You also don't have to actually apply after going through pre qualification.
Is this the best promotion one can expect? Or might it be better to wait?
$200 is the highest SUB, normal during the year is like $100 or maybe $50.
They sent me an increased SUB offer of $150 like a month ago, I waited until this was live. It would have cost me $1000 in Amazon spend at 5% back to match that $50 difference ($200-$150).

Our Prime account is on my wife. What and where should I do in Amazon account to be able to try to get this offer for two cards: my wife and me? $400 would be great to spend for X-Mas gifts for our children.
Appreciate who can give detail explanation on what to do!
It's one of the must have cards if you shop on Amazon. It gives you 5% cash back on any purchase at Amazon and other subsidiaries like Whole Foods etc. also, when you choose Amazon day shipping you get 1% extra totaling 6% of all the purchase at Amazon. Also there are prime card bonus program where you can earn up to 20% including the 5% when you choose eligible prime card bonus item. There are also other advantages like no transaction fee when you use this card in foreign countries, you get prestigious metal card, 5% cash back on chase travel purchase etc.
After applying, it doesn't mean I have to use it, right? Reading into it, I saw no requirements to actually use the card to get the $200 bonus nor keep the card. No fees to maintain a $0 balance that I saw.

I'd love to open it for the $200 and close it a week later.
